Denguin
At least 6-7 cm on the ground at UBC. Roads aren't too bad... But definitely slick. Fire trucks have been going all morning from around 6... I'm guessing those weren't medical assists for drunk kids.

Pouria
Just checked the SFU webcam (Convocation) and NOTHING is being drawn in the snow. Lazy university students! Did you see the traffic guy?
Armada
Snowing heavy right now. Gonna go pick up my buddy and go to the mountain Having skills and knowledge of how to drive in the snow definitely makes a big difference. In fact people shouldn't drive in the snow if they don't know how to, even if they got snow tires. The trick is to choose the heaviest gear (D2 on my automatic transmission) and be light on acceleration and braking. I find most people just hit the gas instantaneously when they are at rest and this is the main reason their tires keep spinning. This and if you lose control don't brake hard, usually it'll only make it worse, just don't over steer or it'll get messy. Denguin
Can't decide if I want UBC to cancel my exam... I'm not entirely ready, but I don't really want to study all over again in the new year...

Russ
Just finished the drive-way, where I had started is already completely white ffs. An fresh inch of snow after 1.5 hours of shoveling, really don't want to shovel again tonight before I go off to work. Mr.Habitat
Drove from south van to Richmomd and its night and day. Richmond is wayyyyyyy worse than south van. Going over the Arthur Laing was like driving in to a different world. Number 2 road and Gilbert closed completely. Looks like down power lines . Probably 3 times as much snow as south van. I work in that area and tried to drive there from Surrey yesterday. Got stuck at the Alex Fraser for a few hours and said F it I'm going home! Took the bus today and yeah it's falling like crazy. hockeyville88
I can't believe UBC cancelled exams. I thought hell would have to freeze over before they ever gave their students a break. Guess conditions must be really bad around there. Still coming down pretty hard in Bby.

Common sense
UBC got bombarded with snow. It's rare (if ever) that you see exams cancelled and all non-essential staff being told to stay home. Of course, the multitudes of buses not being able to make it in have something to do with that.
Common sense
Check out the falling snow/ice damage for the Port Mann! https://twitter.com/...508670620196864 So about that new Port Mann bridge? Well, the overhanging support wires create snow bombs. One just hit my mirror.pic.twitter.com/cufDtxCA Edited December 19, 2012 by Common sense
marinated.pea
The amount of buses just stuck in the middle of nowhere is ridiculous. Thank goodness my exams are done.
