avelanch
^ I thought that players would be draft eligible if they weren't OLDER than 20 by year's end
GodzillaDeuce
Brendan Ranford was named CHL player of the week and Jeff Bosch was named CHL Goaltender of the week Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Kamloops Blazers’ forward Brendan Ranford is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 14 after scoring three goals and three assists for six points in two games. Ranford produced back-to-back three-point games to lead the Blazers to two home wins over the weekend. He scored two goals including the game-winner and added an assist on Saturday night as first star of a 4-0 win over the Kelowna Rockets. He followed that up with a goal and two assists as second star of a 3-1 win over the Everett Silvertips on Sunday. Ranford, an 18-year-old from Edmonton, AB, is playing in his third WHL season with the Blazers and currently leads the league with 20 goals and sits third in points with 33 in 21 games played. The Philadelphia Flyers prospect will compete for Team WHL in the 2010 SUBWAY Super Series game on Wednesday night in Kamloops against Team Russia. The game can be seen live on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific at 7:00 pm Pacific. Tyler Toffoli of the Ottawa 67’s was also considered after scoring nine points in three games including six goals and three assists and also suited up for Team OHL in the SUBWAY Super Series. mdehaan
oops, looks like you are right, I was looking at a site with incorrect info. The NHL says 18-20, 21 is not eligible (unless they are European) http://www.nhl.com/futures/drafthistory.html
avelanch
yeah, there were only 15 goalies picked last draft, and only 12 teams drafted a goalie (Chicago, Phoenix and New Jersey both took 2). Seeing as he was not ranked in the top 30, he didn't stand a chance last season.

avelanch
I wonder where he'll rank, if at all, this upcoming draft if he continues to play well and put up decent numbers. You would have to think after last draft, the upcoming draft will be a better one for goalies.
mdehaan
the thing is, most teams have goalies in their system right now, and the free agency goalies are not garnering a lot of demand, so it seems like most teams are satisfied with their goalie situation, at least right now. :D
Sad to say, the BC division is the worst in the dub this year. Was at the Loonie Dash night on Friday, the end of the third and overtime were the only time the Giants looked better than the Pats.
Ghostsof1915
But it's good that the Bruins and Giants are so close in the standings. Makings of a cool inter-city rivalry?
BM24
Argggghh Cougars have dropped so much. The good thing is, they are only back 5 points of first, so a little win streak can bring them right back into the mix of things. Connolly has also dropped back in the points race by a lot of spots. Still has 28 points in 23 games, not bad for being on a bad Cougars team.

:D
Well considering this is the first real rebuild year the Giants have gone thru, they are doing fairly well. Especially given the man games lost by Tvrdon.

old_time_hockey
Bantam Draft is usually early May. I don't think there is a set date for the 2011 draft yet.
