Antti Miettinen took 36 minor pens this VHL season and 25~ last season.

In real life he took zero in 45 games this season, and his career average is about 18~ a season.

In these playoffs he leads all players (excluding fighting majors) and even has given the opposing team more PP time than the entire Edmonton Oilers squad

Requesting immediate discipline boost.

In other news:

Wanting to have preliminary talks with a rebuilding team who has a top-6 forward available for picks/prospects. One or two of Schenn/Johansson/Couturier will be used to get it done, along with other pieces :)

EDIT: Couturier will be a lot harder to acquire for other teams... he's close to untouchable.

I know it's early and things will change based on ratings and whatnot, but let me know if anyone is interested in a deal like this :P

Minnesota Wild (4) vs. Edmonton Oilers (6) Series Preview

Background: The two former division rivals faced each other 5 times during the season and the Wild ended up winning the season series at 3-2. Two of the games went to overtime and the rest were settled by no more then a two goal difference. Home teams have the clear advantage, as home teams were a perfect 5-0 during the season. The tight match-up has a 7 game series written all over it.

Minnesota Round One X-Factor: Marek Zidlicky. Zidlicky lead all defenceman in scoring, notching 2 goals and 3 assists in just 6 post-season games. Also the versitle defenceman logged an average of over 23 minutes per game, shutting down the Wings offence with linemate Zybnek Michalek. Finally the 35 year old veteran had 5 blocked shots throughout the series.

Minnesota Keys to Victory: During this round the Wild hold a clear advantage in expirence. With players like Sutton, Zidlicky, Corvo, and Gill all over the age of 35, Minnisoda knows what it takes to win in the post season. The Oilers on the other hand have last seen the second round of the playoffs back in 2006 and are full of young talent who have played very little in post season play. Minnisoda will need to rely on home ice advantage in this round to get the right players on the ice to counter the Oilers lethal offence. The Wild also must find a way to expose Antti Neimi or they could fall much like the Canucks did.

Minnesota VHL Playoff Record: 4-2-0

Minnesota Cup Rings: Travis Moen, Brent Sopel, Hal Gill

----

Edmonton Round One X-Factor: Antti Neimi. Neimi was a stud for Edmonton in round one against the Canucks. With a GAA of 1.50 and a SAV % of .948, Antti left the Canucks shooters quiet. Unlike in the past where the Oilers have had to outscore their opponent, Neimi provides the chance to win even if the offence is stalling. He will need to continue to make big saves for the Oil as they head deeper into the playoffs.

Edmonton Keys to Victory: Neimi was the storyline in round one and at the pace he is going at, all the Oilers offence need to do is chip in a goal here and there and they can squeeze out a win. However the Wild are a new beast and won't roll over easy. The Wild's offence is much more balanced then the Canucks, so the Oil must have all 3 pairings of defence rolling. Again, much like in round one, it will be the production coming from the top six that has made the Oilers successful during the year and will need to continue to produce if the Oilers want to see round 3.

Edmonton VHL Playoff Record: 7-4-0

Edmonton Cup Rings: Antti Neimi, Nathan Horton
