Feminism will be outlawed. Mostly because it's a backwards idiotic viewpoint that doesn't serve any real progressive purpose.

I think out of the kids in the hall, Eberle is the only one who has a chance of cracking because of clutch he is in international hockey. The experience the older players have will put them ahead of the 3.

This is my take:

Nash-Crosby-Stamkos
Richards-Toews-Giroux
E. Staal-Getzlaf-Perry
Benn-Tavares-Bergeron

Extras: Iginla, Eberle, Lucic, J. Staal, Sharp

Letang-Weber
Keith-Doughty
Hamhuis-Pietrangelo
Seabrook

Extras: Myers, Murray, Staal

Price
Fleury

Extras: Luongo, Smith

I think this would be a very well-rounded team:

Stamkos - Crosby - Giroux (can you say 'unstoppable'?)
Duchene - Toews - E. Kane
Hall - Seguin - Eberle
Lucic - E. Staal - J. Staal (massive fourth line)

Extras: Burrows, RNH, Nash, Perry

Weber - Pietrangelo
Staal - Doughty
Hamhuis - Seabrook

Extras: Letang, Del Zotto, Subban

Price
Luongo
Fleury

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Weber-Burns

EDIT:
Luongo will be 34 when the Olympics start....

Brodeur was 37 when the 2010 games started, so what?

Luongo will start it will be his job to lose, just like Brodeur in 2010

Except for the experience factor, whatever the hell that's worth, you only have one guy in the bottom six that has ever played in the Olympics. Assuming you don't use spares.

Slightly off topic, but I guarantee if i made a new thread it would get locked by our oh so gracious moderators.

What is every ones thoughts on yzerman? I mean, he doesnt exactly run the best NHL team, why was he chosen to represent our country?

Was there no better options available?

Is he better at his job than I give him credit for? Or am I just in thinking that this task should have been delegated to someone else more capable?

Other than what's already mentioned about him GMing our Olympic team that won gold, what do you expect from a GM? Like seriously. The year he took on the GM role in tampa (2010, in May before the 2010-2011 season started) his team made it to the conference finals against Boston with a team that didn't even make the playoffs the 3 previous years, though TB didn't make the playoffs last year. Ultimately it'll take time for Yzerman to turn that team into a perennial playoff contender.

We are one year away from the opening of the Sochi games. I doubt Yzerman has many guys penciled in at this point. Still lots of spots up for grabs.

Forwards

Locks: Crosby, Toews, Stamkos, Nash

Probables: E. Staal, Getzlaf, Perry, Bergeron, Giroux, Tavares

Others: Thornton, Marleau, Iginla, M. Richards, J. Staal, Benn, Eberle, Couture, Seguin, Hall, RNH, St. Louis, Spezza, Neal, Lucic, Laad

Defense:

Locks: Weber, Pietrangelo

Probables: Doughty, Keith

Others: Boyle, Seabrook, Letang, Girardi, Staal, J. Schultz, Bouwmeester, Burns, Hamhuis, Subban, Phaneuf, Myers

Goalies:

Locks: Price

Probables: Luongo

Others: Fleury, Mike Smith, Brodeur, Crawford, Ward

FYI: Olympic rosters have been expanded to 25 players, opening 3 extra spots. I expect Yzerman will select 14 F, 8 D and 3 G, though perhaps he would take 15 and 7.
