Tortorella's Rant
One step and you're disqualified because you run 399.99888 meters instead of the 400?

Honeydews
idc. Making us celebrate then just telling us we got DQ'd sucks. Its like Canucks scoring the cup winning goal then celebrating only to be shot down when refs disallowed the goal after 10 mins of celebrating. Tortorella's Rant
That seems dumb. Stepping on the line = disqualification. You're still in your lane, you didn't leave it, so why are you disqualified. There was no advantage for us because of that. On the line for every other sport is deemed in bounds but not here? You should be disqualified if you step in the other runners lane, not on the line.
UFCanuck
Usain Bolt is a monster. He should have kept the baton and ran home, nobody can catch him.

soshified
So... Canada was disqualified because a runner stepped on the line? Is that right or can someone tell me what happened? Cause NBC isn't showing that event...
cj_coolcat
Well, it sucks, but those are the rules. It's a heart breaker for sure, but hey, it was still a great race, and hopefully these guys can build on this for 2016.

hockeyville88
Hearbreaking He didn't even step over the line. He was ON it. But amazing composure that he was able to admit fault right away. Didn't try to make excuses or deflect blame. Can't even imagine their devastation right now.

hockeyville88
Unfortunately that's still enough for a DQ. Heartbreaking for sure, you're right about the composure. Didn't point fingers, just accepted that he messed up. Watching the hurt in the Canadian boys was painful. I guess in a race like this one even a millimeter of difference matters because it means one team had to run a little bit less than all the others. If the rule is legit and if we really did violate it, I have to problems conceding the medal. As long as it's not some ambiguous rule like the Canada/USA soccer match. The organizers never should have posted the results if they new something needed to be reviewed. There can't be anything worse than thinking you've won a medal only to have it be snatched away. James Mirtle @mirtle Canada has appealed ruling.
canuck_trevor16
I am sure that past athletic has done this and gotten away with it......hopefully Canada uses that evidence to get back the bronze....
