Back to league related stuff, I ranked my top-15 prospects:

  1. Oliver Ekman-Larsson (D) – Although Ekman-Larsson isn't really a prospect, the promising defensive youngster looks like he'll be Phoenix's number one defender in the future.

  2. Valdimir Tarasenko (RW) – Acquired in the Hanzal trade, Tarasenko is Phoenix's top forward prospect at this time. The scoring winger is expected to become the teams first line right winger soon. It is expected he will play on the second line this season.

  3. Zack Kassian (RW) – Acquired when the Coyotes moved Yandle to the Canucks, the Coyotes expect Kassian to pot a few points while playing on the third line this year. It is hopeful that his offensive game will develop enough for him to be the second line right wing in the future.

  4. Alexander Burmistrov (C/LW/RW) – Burmistrov is expected to develop into a first line playmaker for the Coyotes in a couple of years, but it is expected that he will start this season on the second line with Vermette and Tarasenko.

  5. Brandon Gormley (D) – Expected to start the year in the AHL, the Coyotes hope Gormley will be a perfect partner for Ekman-Larsson in a few years.

  6. David Rundblad (D) – Rundblad is expected to be on the top pairing in the AHL with Brandon Gormley this coming season. It is hoped that he can develop into a good top-4 offensive defenseman.

  7. Mark Visentin (G) – With numbers that show he could already be an NHL backup, Visentin is expected to be the starter in the AHL this season ahead of Joe Cannata. The Coyotes feel he could be a starting goaltender in the future.

  8. Mikkel Boedker (LW) – Boedker is expected to start the year on the first line in the AHL. His future looks to be a second line left wing on the Coyotes in a couple of years.

  9. Jordan Schroeder © – Also expected to start the year on the first AHL line, Jordan looks promising to be a second line center (hopefully between Boedker and Kassian) in a season or two.

  10. Henrik Samuelsson (C/RW) – The Coyotes first round pick in the past NHL entry draft, the organization hopes he can develop into a great third liner in the future.

  11. Richard Panik (RW) – Although the Right Winger doesn't have a clear cut spot in the future coyotes lineup, it is thought he could develop into a top six winger.

  12. Frank Corrado (D) – Frank is expected to be a top four defender in the AHL this season, with hopes that he can become a bottom pairing or fourth defenseman in the future.

  13. Greg Nemisz (C/RW) – Nemisz is expected to be a top-6 player in the AHL this season with the eventual hope that he could turn into a decent third line player in the future.

  14. Joe Cannata (G) – The recent acquiree from the Vancouver Canucks is expected to split time with Visentin in the AHL this season, and looks to be poised to be a backup goalie in the NHL sometime in the future.

  15. Roman Horak © – The Coyotes hope that Horak can develop into a 3rd or 4th line center in the near future.
