Yeah but he has to do that consistently. He was shutdown on punt returns the whole game. If it wasn't for the missed field goal return it would have been yet another bad game from Tim Brown as the returner.

The positive from last game is the emergence of Ernest Jackson filling in for Kierrie Johnson, Big guy with good speed that he showed on his td run when he took the sweep. Reminds me of Emmanuel Arceneaux a little bit.

Agreed about Brown. I've stated it before and I still stick by it, I don't like him on returns, doesn't have the explosiveness that I see required. Still doesn't make that return any less awesome.

Would really like to see Reilly get a few more rep as well. Game was over 7 minutes into the 4th, no need to leave Lulay out there. Great crowd, it was good to see, over 34,000. Would be great to see around 40,000 against Montreal. Cavillo Vs. Lulay you would think would be an easy sell, especially on a weekend.

It takes you 12 hours to drive from Williams Lake to Vancouver????

I used to make the trip from PG in less than 10....

BTW: Nice win for the Leos. Defense looks very good. Bighill and Muamba look like the real deal.

I'm actually about an extra 3 hours west of the puddle, but that's the closest "big" town to where I live. haha Sucks, I know.

Anyway, it was a great time at the game. The stadium with the roof open was so enjoyable, it made up for the lame 1st half. lol And the 2nd half beat down was awesome. Still, there was WAY too much green in that crowd. It was actually kind of embarrassing. Just glad the Lions won so they had nothing to brag about. If it weren't for those extra Rider fans I bet you the attendance would have been in the mid to high 20's. What happened to all the Lions fans? :(

Me too. The return was good. But he just doesn't have the long speed to break away in the open field so he has to resort to cutting in and out instead of just going north/south as fast as possible.

The fact the Lions seem to have no problem with Tim Brown as the returner leads me to believe they think the blocking on returns is the problem and not Tim Brown.

I don't mind Brown as strictly the punt returner but he shouldn't be returning kickoffs he doesn't have the straight line speed for that.

Hopefully Kierrie Johnson comes back soon and gets a chance to return kickoffs and use his blazing speed.

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

Grew up in PG. Used to take the trip down to Quesnel and Williams Lake to play football every other weekend back in the day....

Hoping the Lions don't underestimate the Bombers, its game like these that are the most dangerous, against opponents who are struggling.

Anyways, was at the game Sunday and had a blast, our "wheat pickers" chant was awesome. We were sitting in lower bowl 224, then went up to 442 for the 2nd half cause some of our buddies always sit up there cause theres no lineups for beer or food and alot of empty seats, was fun razzing on the riders fans up there, im shocked security didnt talk to us lol

It will be interesting to see how Joey Elliot will do against BC's defense which gives QBs tons of different looks. Last week Elliot almost threw for 3 INTs even though he had a big game. He will have to play a lot smarter or else there will be a bunch of pick sixes out there.

Hopefully the Lions offense will be more consistent, but I can't complain about the playcalling this year. It's been very creative

It's been a bit more like stagger-ville this season....

...but I'm not going to get too carried away just yet. The Leos showed everyone last season that the CFL is a league where a team can recover from a bad start.

hasnt been the best game for the lions but I knew they would come back. Lulay probably had his worse game of the year but performed when it mattered

Definitely didn't deserve that one, but did anyone see that the Bomber player's foot was clearly out before the 1st down marker on that huge 3rd down play!? I was livid that they didn't take another look at that one, so I guess it all evens out in the end.

Oh well, take the win and move on to the next one. Wasn't a great game but the end was a thriller.

BC got the win but the offence is out of sync.

They have Montreal back to back coming up the next two weeks so they better clean it up because they can't expect the defense to bail them out every game.

They were lucky to get this win.

It disappeared with that 17-point lead they had against Calgary four weeks ago.

Not really a big surprise, kinda surprised it took this long actually.

BLUE BOMBERS RELEASE COACH LAPOLICE; NAME BURKE REPLACEMENT

WINNIPEG -- Paul LaPolice has paid the price for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' losing season.

The CFL team fired its head coach on Saturday and replaced him with defensive co-ordinator Tim Burke.

The announcement comes a day after the Blue Bombers dropped 20-17 decision at home to the B.C. Lions to fall to 2-6 on the season, last in the overall standings.

LaPolice was in his third season in Winnipeg and leaves the team with a 16-28 record.

After taking over for the fired Mike Kelly after the 2009 season, the Bombers struggled to a league-low 4-14 record in 2010.
But Winnipeg rebounded in a big way in 2011, winning the East Division with a 10-8 mark before losing 34-23 to B.C. in the Grey Cup.

Just months after LaPolice was given a two-year contract extension, the Bombers stumbled out of the gates this season and went 0-4. Winnipeg didn't register its first win until a 23-22 home victory against the Edmonton Eskimos on July 26.
LaPolice came to Winnipeg after three season in Saskatchewan, first as a receivers coach, then as offensive co-ordinator as the Riders went to the 2009 Grey Cup.

He became Winnipeg's 28th head coach on Feb. 5, 2010.

"This was an extremely difficult decision to make especially when dealing with the kind of quality individual as Paul is," Blue Bombers vice-president and general manager Joe Mack said in a statement. "As the season has progressed, and looking back on how we struggled throughout the second half of the year in 2011, we have become increasingly concerned with the direction of our club and felt this was in the best interest of our entire organization."
