Ossi Vaananen
This actually isn't terrible. It's too bad 3 way trades rarely happen. What can you tell me about Mr. Stafford?

CanucksFanMike
Buffalo wins this deal, Florida comes second, we lose... what about this (more evened out): Canucks; Drew Stafford FLA 2nd Rounder Sabres: Kris Versteeg Bill Sweatt Panthers: Roberto Luongo That is a bit more even, but I do like your idea in the OP
CanucksFanMike
Consistent 50 point scorer, plays right wing, he is 6 foot 2, can make plays for both Kesler and Booth, salary is 4 million, 26 years old, and is American.

Canucksbiggestfan
All true... and he would complete a new AMEX line but Stafford is a shoot-first guy, not a playmaker. But still, he could fit in well here
Smashian Kassian
I love Stafford the price is just too high, I remember making a proposal for him earlier in the year when Buffalo was struggling big time and there was rumours about dealing people. Raymond and a 2nd for Stafford was the deal and people agreed it was fair and more probable at the time but they would never accept it now. too bad I wish we did it Stafford would be great for Kes and Booth. Jägermeister
How on Earth does Buffalo get that much for Stafford??? Versteeg is better than Stafford alone, let alone adding on Sweatt a 1st and a 2nd. Plus we overpay big time.

Canucksbiggestfan
Nah I would say Stafford > Versteeg for sure. I know, I drooled about that when I made that proposal last January, it would be sick but right now I think it would have to be a significant overpayment to get him, if we can do it without losing too many important pieces then im down but the price will be high. Maybe Higgins, Raymond and a 2nd?? They add wingers and a decent pick in a good draft. Then our top 9 would be: Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Booth - Kesler - Stafford Kassian - ? - Hansen
Kovalsnipe
No way Florida trades Versteeg for Luongo. Howden + 3rd for Luongo is more of a realistic trade.
Smashian Kassian
In my proposal we aren't giving up major pieces. Roberto Luongo is a major player but with him saying it's time to move on, it makes it easier to deal him. We have prospects who would be considered better than Sweatt who is also on the final year of his contract.

Canucksbiggestfan
No kidding. That's nice and all, but we aren't going to move all that for him. Buffalo might want that much but we already have a similar style player in Booth on Kesler's wing, so it doesn't make sense to add another when they could use more of a playmaker.
