I picked this up last night.

Penguins are the favorites followed by the Rangers, Kings, and on fourth place, Vancouver Canucks.

I was thinking the same thing. It boggles the mind why the Penguins are at the top!

not really surprising. We haven't really lost much since last year. Salo is a big loss to the team, but we did get another d-man who can hopefully at the very least fill Salo's shoes. Lets just hope we remain on top of the list for a while, seeing as it looks like this season will be a washout :(

Feminism will be outlawed. Mostly because it's a backwards idiotic viewpoint that doesn't serve any real progressive purpose.

Im not sure if im missing something or if you and everyone else just really sucks at reading...

Yes you are missing it.... You need to focus on the current odds... (as of today) Not the opening Odds.

Maybe a good sleeper bet would be for Panthers at 40-1. When they get Luongo with our luck they'll win a cup right away like Patrick Roy did. lol

Bet away, I wouldn't be willing to use my money. Lou couldn't lead a stacked Vancouver team to a cup but he has a chance in FL? Good luck.

I understand you're talking about Stanley Cups, but to discount any accomplishments just because they weren't the ultimate prize is a little narrow minded. It's hardly an easy thing to do, but the first step is to have a team that can be seen as serious contenders. We've been contenders in other people's eyes for a few years now, and for good reason.

It's all well and nice to see the Canucks in the top 4, but really, does it matter if Bettman cannot keep the owners in check and get the season underway on time?
The Rangers should be right up with the top 5, maybe another Canucks /Rangers final if we ever get over this lockout......that would be sweet if we had a chance to even the score.

It's not narrow-minded. Presumably, each NHL team enters each season with the goal of winning a Stanley Cup. That's why they go out and play every night. That's what they're trying to do - win.

The Canucks have accomplished this 0 times in their existence. Dance around the issue all you want, but that is quite pathetic, which even the most biased of homers on this site would have a hard time disagreeing with. Yes, I'm aware that "there are 29 losers every year". That doesn't really make it sting any less.

The Canucks don't exist to win President's Trophy's, or Smythe Division Championships, or to retire an exorbitant amount of non-Cup-winners' jerseys (believe it or not). To quote Herm Edwards, "[they] play to win the [Cup]!"

Odds mean nothing, we've been 3rd or 4th highest odds to win the cup (if not higher) for a few years now

I'm willing to bet they would trade every single one of those division titles, conference titles, and president's trophies for one stanley cup. Those are not what they play for

The team doesn't have a great history, right. What the hell is your point exactly? You're not stating anything that people don't already know.

Odds are worthless. Especially when Pittsburgh and Chicago are always near the top. Make your predictions based off who you think will win, not by what team someone else thinks will win.

He wants to show us how much of unbiased poster he is (and how biased we are) in a crusade that involves him posting the rhetoric spewed by Canuck haters across the internet.

We know we haven't won a cup. No need to antagonize Canucks fans for staying positive.
