Hi everyone! In the hopes of generating some positive energy to bring hockey back to us this winter, I created some artwork to celebrate the proud traditions of Canadian teams, with emphasis on us, their fanbase. This is one of my pencil drawings celebrating the Canucks. I hope you like it. I am a cousin of Doug Lidster, so although I grew up in Regina and then Edmonton, I had my #3 old V jersey on during hockey season.

Posted Image

Here is my description of the artwork:

"We Are All Canucks"

This drawing was inspired by the history of the Vancouver Canucks and its strong fanbase. The piece features fans walking to Rogers Arena wearing jerseys representative of each generation of Canucks' history (including all three colour schemes). Ghosted in the sky above the arena are eight of the many great players that have captured the hearts of Canucks fans throughout their proud history. Fan jerseys numbers represent these as well as many other top Canucks of all time, including Kirk McLean, Tiger Williams, Harold Snepsts, Stan Smyl, Tony Tanti, Cliff Ronning, Todd Bertuzzi, Doug Lidster, Thomas Gradin, Mattias Ohlund, Alex Burrows and Greg Adams.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I drew this with pencil and colored pencil. Here is a link to a slightly larger view. It is actually 18" x 24" so these small images don't show much of the fine detail.

anyone that isn't a canuck fan is going to look at that and start with the "surprised they aren't rioting in the picture" comments.

I agree. I always loved drawing goalies the most. I am a detail-addict and love drawing intricate masks.

I created this piece in the spring as part of my Canadian collection which is now complete, so yes you may have seen it somewhere, I donated 100 prints to the Ducks Unlimited charity, so you've likely seen it in a bank or mall. I have never been banned from this forum.

It's not just that he's seen it "somewhere" - it's been posted on here before. Now, I don't know about being banned or whatever, but it'll absolutely help you out if you make sure you don't let it seem like advertising in order to get a sale.

It's nice work, so no need for you or anyone else to get in trouble for posting it if you don't have to.

EDIT: Here's the link to the thread where it had been posted before, ironically by the OP's cousin (when he's the cousin of Lidster):
http://forum.canucks...-print-awesome/

EDIT #2: Just to make it clear, I wouldn't say there's any board rules violations or anything like that. He posted his pic that does have a watermark of his website on it, but it's not like he's linking to an actual page with an option to buy it.

It's a nice piece, let's just enjoy it.

That post was not made by me. I gave a print to my cousin in Vernon last spring so assume that was her. I sent you a private message.

The Luongo save at the top looks awesome, you should give him some color.

A nice way to immortalize him and all of his accomplishments, while we still have him.

I definitely have respect for Lu and what he has done for this team, I'm hoping that other fans will start to show their appreciation soon. If Schneider could become even close to as accomplished, it would indeed be a spectacle to behold! My heart goes with him to which ever team he ends up on! :P

I like your work. Captures the essence of being a fan. We all carry images of our favourite players in any sport.

It is a pity something like that, even when Canucks related, always seems to bring out the less positive reactions. That's CDC I suppose.
