Looks like Loui is being humble...

NY Islanders... Future Hall of Famer.

He was drafted by the Isles.... and is %100 a first ballot future hall of famer. His birth day couldn't be anymore correct.... well unless he was April 31st or 28nd...

Or making a comment on the fact that they traded him away so quickly before he found his groove in the NHL.

But we agree that he absolutely will deserve to be in the HHoF.

It's quote astonishing what absolutely horrible trades he's been a part of considering he's arguably the 3rd best goaltender in NHL history. Every time he's been traded, the team he's left has been decimated by the robbery.

  • 2000-Jun-24 Traded from New York Islanders with Olli Jokinen to Florida Panthers for Mark Parrishand Oleg Kvasha
This is absolutely a trade the Isles would regret for years... I wonder if they would have offered Luongo a similar contract that they gave to Rick DiPietro... perhaps Luongo would have got mentally ruined too?
  • 2006-Jun-23 Traded from Florida Panthers with Lukas Krajicek and round 6 pick in the 2006 draft (Sergei Shirokov) to Vancouver Canucks for Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan Allen, Alex Auld and conditional pick in the 2007 draft
Again, unbelievable steal... Todd Bertuzzi was without a doubt the most prolific power forward the NHL had ever scene from 2000-2004... however, his best before date had passed and Mike Keenan failed to realize that. Allen and Auld never developed to much either while Luongo continued to be a super star for many years to come
  • 2014-Mar-04 Traded from Vancouver Canucks with Steven Anthony to Florida Panthers for Jacob Markstrom and Shawn Matthias
And again... not to mention there was $800K retained on his cap hit too... imagine where the Canucks would have been had Torts not been signed and didn't bench Lui in the Heritage classic...
