Azzy Mahmood Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 I've had every FM since Championship Manager 96/97, and can honestly say that this is the best edition since 2001/02. It's a huge improvement on recent instalments. Having said that, despite getting it at Christmas I'm still only on my first season with West Brom - that XB1 has taken up all my time, and will continue to do so with Titanfall and Elder Scrolls Online on my plate. From what I know of the game, Ajax are a great young side and you should be able to coast the Eredivisie; Viktor Fischer as a LW as part of a front three is particularly effective I've read. It's a hell of a lot of fun, and tends to begin to absorb all your free time. The last time I totally got into a specific entry was with 12. I had Landon Donovan on my team in Porto, and he managed to get himself into the year end FIFA Starting 11 as the best right midfielder in the entire world. That was probably the most fun I had with Football manager, ever. When I play, I always start off with Porto for a a few seasons (about 3-4), after which I bounce around Europe until I finally land at Man United. GLASSJAW Posted March 28, 2014 Share Posted March 28, 2014 i started playing football manager back when it was called championship manager, back in like 2002 or something. then i stopped playing the series in around 2007-present because the game just took way too long. i loved in the old editions how you could just plow through a season if you want. now even just doing a single game takes way too long. except i DO own the current 2014 iPad edition, which is very similar to old school versions of it. definitely needs some more details available and a few more features, but it definitely satisfies the FM itch i used to always play as PSG, then move my way out of France, but since PSG was bought out, that isn't any fun. so now i start usually on a bottom feeder team in Serie A, and just move my way around. GLASSJAW Posted March 28, 2014 Share Posted March 28, 2014 i loved back in the day how you could download the FM/CM "scout" and just basically cheat. find all the great Brazilians with the best potential, and just stack your team with 19 year old superstars-in-the-making for 3-10 million.
