Believe it or not the two best places to play from a tax perspective (in 2013) were Edmonton and Calgary. The worst place was Montreal. Things will have changed maybe a bit since then due to different governments -and new tax laws. I will post the entire list when I find it. If a spot opened up in California he was bound to take it. Best of luck to him if he does leave. He played great for us despite us finishing very low in the standings.
