Trading guys like Vanek, Guddy, Hutton etc is gutting your team of veterans? What? New flash we would still have Sedins/Edler/Sutter/Eriksson and Horvat is ready to take over as one of the leaders.

 

Hoping that a rebuilding team trades their UFA's at the TDL for draft picks to help their rebuild is not being unreasonable.

Lou's contstructed Stanley cup teams, and Brendan Shanahan's got a few rings of is own as well as watching one of the best Kenny Holland at work, they know what they are doing there in Toronto as much as I hate to say it. Even if they didn't get Matthews, the type of brainpower they have in management, they probably would still put a decent team on the ice...a lot better than previous Leafs teams I'll tell you that much

Sure. I can agree. They may be trying to trade Hutton and Guds and Vanek. You need partners to trade. You can't just give them away for whatever pick. Again. Your saying get picks. It doesn't just happen. You need a dance partner.
