A suspect was in custody on Saturday morning after a fatal shooting with multiple casualties near the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, where Sabbath services were taking place, according to local officials.

At least 12 people were injured, three of whom appeared to be law enforcement and at least eight of which were fatalities, according to preliminary information from multiple senior law enforcement officials.

It is believed the suspect, identified by multiple law enforcement officials as Rob Bowers, 46, of Pittsburgh, was armed with an AR-15-style rifle and multiple handguns.

You know who hates the jewish people?

Nationalists

Extreme nationalists, sure.  Since you're talking about Trump, is he so extreme that he dislikes Jews?  After all he did move the US embassy to Jerusalem so Israel would love him.

Pandering to a small minority by moving an embassy and trolling the world while doing it doesn't mean anything except optics.

Making endless inflammatory statements without filter and excusing the ensuing violence that comes from it though....green light for people in a nation with rabid people who still believe the former president was a kenyan muslim and that the democratic leadership murders and molests babies in a pizza shop

These officials also told NBC that the name of the gunman is Rob Bowers, age 46. A Pittsburgh native, Bowers' social media is rife with anti-Semitic comments, these sources said.

I think your argument would go farther if you argued that Trump may not hate Jews, but the extremists that his rhetoric seems to incite the most absolutely do.

Yup...Trump's answer to a mass shooting (with an AR-15) is more guns...mind boggling, isn't it?

What's your cure?  The US tried a decade long ban on AR-15's and other rifles patterned after military guns.  It didn't work.

Next step would be a total gun ban along with taking current guns by force.  That's highly unrealistic especially since there is well over 300 million guns in the US.  All you'd do is quickly disarm law abiding citizens.  That was proven when the idiot cops (the ones who didn't run from the flood) in Louisiana illegally did just that.  They took homeowner's guns and the armed criminals and looters who stayed behind had a field day.  That's something that the MSM did their best to hide and not report on.

People, including many on CDC, think that it's a simple issue to solve.  It's not.

Solid point, Jewish money from the likes of Sheldon Adelson helped him get elected.

Obama in eight years tried and failed and he may have had more mass murders under his watch than any sittting president in history.

Solidarity with Israel is also one of the Republican party's bedrock principles.  That's one of the biggest reasons alone why Trump moved the embassy.  It played well with the party that elected him.

I would include that amendment but i think it would be insulting to posters here.

A society that chants lock them up after 14 bombs get mailed out and ignore the root cause and reason why...

Nobody should be surprised that 2 days after saying he is a nationalist, that some anti semetic waste guns down a synagogue.

That's because he couldn't get anything through Congress.

Bill Clinton, who was also hated by Republicans, however did get the ban through Congress.  It was in place for a decade and it did nothing to end shootings.  Hand guns are actually easier to kill with in short distances than a rifle is.

People with underlying issues with the leadership of a nation lash out.  Especially if that issue is skin color

Who said it's a simple issue to solve? Not me.

I agree that a 'total gun ban' is unrealistic. Who said that it's realistic?

We'll have to wait and see what the investigation comes up with.  If he was a huge Trumper like the Florida bomber then the Republicans will take another hit to their chances during the midterm election.

I think most of us understand it's not a simple issue, but would still like to see steps being made in the right direction (in any direction FFS?!?).

This current philosophy that some people have about countering guns with more guns is pure idiocy no matter how you look at it.
