Zigmund.Palffy
Montreal Canadiens made some big moves prior to the TRADE DEADLINE which is tonight, as they acquired F Ryan Malone, D Cory Sarich, F Teddy Purcell and prospect D Emelien Quessandier, who led all defencemen in points at the World Juniors this year. Leaving the team were F Erik Cole and D Barret Jackman, Montreal wishes both players the best of luck on their new teams. Some eyebrows were raised at Montreal Canadiens of making these moves as they are currently leading the division and in a playoff spot. Well in order sign franchise goalie Carey Price they had to make some cap space for this off-season as he will be due for a raise, as well as getting more scoring depth. Ryan Malone is basically the same type of player as Erik Cole, but cheaper. Montreal is hoping Cory Sarich can help glue this defence together down the stretch. Montreal acquiring Teddy Purcell could help out more upfront, and he will get the opportunity to play with Danny Briere and Olympian Kristian Huselius. Montreal believes that all four lines are capable of scoring and that will big down the stretch. Right now, Montreal has a 1 point lead on Buffalo Sabres for the NE Division, these two teams are definitely going to battle it out for the division title, but Montreal also has to look at the Ottawa Senators, as they are only 4 points back. It will be a dog fight till the end, but Montreal believes that they are confident enough that this group will get it done. Furthermore, Montreal Canadiens looks to be done dealing as the trade deadline approaches and will roll with this group till the end. Montreal Canadiens Lineup Daniel Sedin-Henrik Sedin- Ryan Malone Kristian Huselius-Daniel Briere-Teddy Purcell Simon Gagne-Travis Zajac- Mike Knuble Travis Moen-Stephane Yelle-Chris Clark ex:Matt Cooke Frantisek Kaberle-Scott Hannan Andrew Ference-Dennis Seidenberg Steve Montador-Cory Sarich Carey Price Marc Denis Edited May 5, 2020 by Zigmund.Palffy 3

Popular Post Nail
Announcement After a semi-successful Olympics, the NHL has received increased revenue and has made the decision to raise the salary cap for the 2010-11 season. The cap will be raised by 1.5M, to make a total of 45.5M. Teams will be unable to access the additional 1.5M until Free Agency begins, they may not use this extra cap space to go over the cap while re-signing players. This is to ensure the Free Agent Market will still be as good as originally planned. Reports say this cap raising could've been doubled if it not for teams having to play NHL games without their Olympians. 12 3 1
