  1. You can make it as a big deal as you want, or, you can say "yeah that sucks" but these teams are givng there all, which is more then I can say for the regular season. The game is not perfect, I 100% agree, but I won't let these officials interupt my thoughts on how these teams are playing right now. I hear the same excuses over and over and I would rather make the players accountable in overcoming what ever adversity is thrown at them, that is part of the fun of this time of the season. Adversity was thrown as us in 2011 and we failed, right now the Panthers are not responding well either. It's a battle to the bitter end and thats the way it should be. Are you not entertained!? This is supposed to be fun and too many are making it more serious then it should be. Remember, it's a sport, a game.
  2. Hey you don't have to tell me I have seen brutal reffing over the years for sure. I just don't believe they are intentionally calling for one team or another, they are just making bad calls, period. I am surprised that they haven't done anything to improve it because it is making the sport look very bush league.
  3. I'm just gonna leave this here again. Just in case some of you are wondering what is going on in this series.
  4. He wasn't, he was talking about the Panthers being SC finalists. They are definitely playing like they don't even belong there.
  5. There it is! We have gone down that road, been there done that. No thanks. We are building a team and we are down to very specific needs, no time to wait years and years anymore. Or get a guy and try to get good value for him, not going to happen. We draft exactly what we need or we trade for them. Like Hronek. If I see another Winger or another offensive defenseman under 6 ft., 200lbs. I am going to hurl.
  6. Poor Tkachuk, what a joke! Get a life dude, this is great hockey, if you don't like it, why don't you leave.
  7. You don't need to bring common sense into the picture do you? .......or an unbiased opinion. I watched Edmonton try to do the same thing to Vegas. Kane blatantly skated up to Petriangelo and cross checked him in the neck. No call, no penalty. Petro hacks Draisaitl a game later and gets suspended. I don't think Draisaitl even missed a shift. Vegas play an unbelievable game 5 on 5 they don't need to get into special teams, in fact, I bet they are trying to stay away from it. Tkachuk and Co. are trying to go "2011 Bruins" on Vegas and its not working. The refs see that. Game management. The bad calls are going both ways and its not the Big Bad man Bettman being the puppet master here. People watch too many movies I think.
  8. They are pretty close to being flawless. I keep looking for a weakness, but they have none.Yes and they are fun to watch.
  9. Its been bad for a while and they aren't picky which team they make bad calls on. Its just bad, period.
  10. Vegas is unelievable on the board battles, they just seem to come out of the corners with the puck every time. Yes the Panthers live and die with Bob and Tkachuk. If they don't perform, theyr'e done.
  11. I have not seen a weak link with Vegas, they have all the right pieces to the puzzle. They have gamers like Marchessault who just get the job done when it counts. I am so jealous right now.
  12. These two are bang on! I hate to say this but we are too small and too skilled to play in the playoffs. With that I mean we have guys who can score but lack any size or grit to able to withstand the rigors of play off hockey. Then you add one that lacks speed, we are hooped. Who is going to dig the puck out of the corners for our skilled players to do their thing? Who is going to clear the net when we get hemmed in our own d zone? Another thing I have noticed is that many have already said big tough guys need to know how to play hockey but the same could be said for those that are skilled. They need to be able to handle themselves when it gets rough and have the ability to throw their own weight around when the need arises. No "One Dimensional's who need other players around them to be successful.
  13. This years Panthers could also be compared to the 2011 Bruins. They tried the intimidation tactic but failed against Vegas. Yeah Jovo and I think Kessler, would have made better Captains and maybe Bieksa too, I don't know. I just felt we lacked that passion that Linden brought which I didn't feel we had with Nazzy or Hank. It was sad to see how Nazzy was treated and then Hank and Danny from the opposition. I am sure they probably didn't want retaliation but it didn't look good when your leaders are treated that way. For what we have now, I am leaning towards Miller as Captain even though Hughes and Petey would probably do a good job in most aspects. If they were to get "Pimpslapped" would we have the same story happen all over again? That's my worry. We don't get many trips to the final to see or not.
  14. I agree, back in 94, we were a team very similar to Vegas, it was a fun team to watch. Really the only European player we had back then was Bure and he wasn't a bad one to have. Since then, we did have more Europeans and were led by them. We went from Linden/Smyl to Nazzy/Hank. Bo could have made a difference but he was heavily influenced by Hank. Nazzy and Hank were great players but should not have been Captains. Just like Petey, I would rather they are alllowed to do their thing and let someone else deal with the leadership responsibilities. I know many say it doesn't matter who wears the patch, but I have seen a team lead by great leders and how that influences the rest of the team. We definitely need to get bigger and grittier and this is the missing piece of the puzzle we neglected in the past. I sure hope this management gets it right this time.
