Three solid top-4 RDs, surely at least two of them pan out, develop them all, trade the 3rd best guy the way Yzerman traded us Hronek - a young RD is the hottest commodity in the league right now.More realistically we could have rebuilt our team with something more balanced like this:
1st - Benson
1st - Willander or ASP
2nd - Strbak
Obviously Benson has high bust potential but also, would have pretty much lead the league in scoring if Bedard wasn't there. Moore fell a fair bit too so could have been a nice two-way center pick up.
I'm all for Hronek and understand why we made that deal but boy, there were some good players available with those picks. ASP may eclipse Hronek alone in 2-3 years time.
We probably would have gone:
Willander
Barlow
Strbak would have been pretty good.

Happy with the picks taken at RHD. Not thrilled with the smaller center over age players though. They confuse me.
We need every single pick to hit, 3 per draft for the foreseeable future to be able to start accumulating some depth of prospects. Risky picks on over agers instead of safe picks of need are head scratchersIm with ya but they must see something in Ty Mueller and the path hes gone its not uncommon to develop slower. I agree with your logic but overall I am happy with our draft result and we must trust their process.

Which means going back to 2003 we have drafted a total of 16 total RHD in 20 years, out of a combined 138 total draft picks. A total of 11.59% of all of our draft picks spent on RHD in 20 years, arguably our greatest positional need going back to 2003.
That is genuinely an insane stat if you think about it. it's no wonder we don't have anything in the pipes knowing we went 5 straight draft years without drafting a single one and averaged less than 1 per draft with the bulk of all total RHD being drafted AFTER the 3rd round in that 20 year span.
100% it was time! happy the staff have addressed the issue.

TO me it all means a guy who peaked early and has just regressed. His skating is an issue. And I m just not a fan

I agree Mynio could be a sneaky pick.
IF they added Stanley and Minnetian too would have been insanely optimistic about our D pipeline all of a sudden. But how well at least we finally added two awesome RHD prospects

Perkins and Mueller picks confuse me too but our pro scouting staff is pretty good so maybe they will show us what's up.
Even though I dont like Cam Allen if we took him and Aram at the end there I woulda dev loved the amount of RHD in the system. A couple of them would probably have hit or at least been valuable trade chips.
