Stan Smyl doesn't have two brain cells to rub together. The guy is a complete lackey and has what is known as a sympathy job. Nicolson as Pres and Linden as GM makes more sense than Linden being Pres. GM is more of an upfront and in the spotlight job and that's what Linden would excel at.

If we're lucky enough to win the lottery that would be a good bargaining chip for a deal involving Tavares. Hansen and #1 pick for Tavares Snow could still retain his shot at Mcdavid and get Ekblad as well.

I like a lot of things MG did but you just cant look past the Luongo fiasco and a few other suspect trades/draft picks. There is just too much baggage now and a change is needed. At the end of it MG did more good than bad for the Canucks organization

Not a Gillis hater but he has to take the brunt of the teams poor results. The Luongo/Scneids debacle has been an absolute albatross around this teams neck and he authored all the drama with his lack of a plan. The fallout from the teams decent will be and should be directed squarely at him

The Canucks last 3 games are Col, Edm, Cal. We win at least one of those which puts us at minimum of 83 points. The three teams behind them in the standings are Ott, Win, and Car Ott has 80 points with NYI, NJ, Tor, Pitt left to play Winn has 80 pts with Bos and Cal to play Car has 79 pts with NYR, WSH, Det, Phi to play if we end with 85 pts only Ott and Car can surpass us Realisticly we end up at best with the #7 pick, unless of course we win the lottery

The Canucks are in the situation that they're in because they took chances on high end skill players with their first rnd picks. Grabner, Hodgson, Schroeder. The safe picks like Gaunce and Horvat are what we need. At the end of the day we see it differently. I prefer a heart and soul kind of player who will be at his best come playoff time over a player like Ehlers. Canadian kids tend have both high end skill and the drive to win. I don't believe most Euro's have both.

ROR is more than you're average defensive center and I doubt Gaunce will ever be a 30 goal scorer in the NHL What if Ehlers turns out to be another Yakupov?

You don't pass on a Canadian kid just because he didn't score 100 points in JR hockey. I would trade the chance to draft Ehlers for a ROR

Nothing against Ehlers but I would take a Canadian kid who is less talented and tough as nails before a dancing Euro every time. Not many Russians or Danes on the most recent Cup winning teams last I checked. assuming we pick between 9-12 and Mcann, Ritchie, Virt, Fleury all still available then we should go there first.

Horvat needs another T/C and some AHL time before mking the Canucks. I don't think he'll be NHL ready in sept but another year in JR wont do much for his development either. Its gonna be interesting to see what mgmnt does with him
