    You can be a Canucks fan and simultaneously criticize management decisions. Because being a Canucks fan doesn’t mean blindly supporting every decision the team makes. As a Canuck fan, our loyalty should lie in the institution of the Canucks, not to any particular member of the establishment. As we were here before any of the current owners/managers/coaches/players were and we, the collective Canuck fanbase, will be here long after Aquilini/JR/PA/players have all left. You can criticize/analyze decisions made by the team while still being a diehard Canuck fans.

    For sure, but it's hard to see it as a win in terms of asset management.

    I don't hate this deal, it's not a terrible move... but I don't like the direction this management group is taking us at all. Not sure I've soured on a GM so quickly. 

     

    Sigh. 

    Yeah, that's my feeling too. Ethan Bear is a human being and we could use human beings on defense.
    And sure, 5th rounders have a low percentage chance of turning out. But this just compounds on the overall vision of the management that I'm not sure I agree with. It's more giving up investments for shortterm reprieve.
