I'm really talking more about the right now. The pendulum will swing in the other direction of this losing streak. That's how life works. Nothing stays the same. Wins will come. The confident bullies will in turn become the bullied.

In relation to your point, though, management has committed to now, going all in, so worrying about things won't do much good. We need to make playoffs and make the best of it as much of a contender as we can be.

Yeah I totally understand what you’re saying. When management extended Miller, they were basically announcing that this was their version of going all-in. I’ll continue to support the team because, hey, I’ve been here before JR was here and I’ll still be here after he’s gone. But I totally get the fan frustration too.

Just remember when you're championing the destruction of the team, blaming the coach, glad the team is losing, flexing on those who want the team to succeed, the pendulum always ... ALWAYS ... swings the other direction.

As easily as it's been to lose hope these past few games, it's equally as easy to renew faith with a winning streak.

The pendulum will be swinging the other way.

Therein lies the worry with the team too. As bad as things look now, we have too much talent to be that bad for the whole season. But at their best, we’re not likely a Cup contender either. So the worry is that we’re forever going to be a middling team who neither acquires high draft picks and instead strives to squeak into the playoffs as our best case scenario.

Why would demko get a pass?  Why should we expect less than mvp calibre goaltending from him?  Hes only been a starter for 2 or 3 yrs.  He hasnt earned any right to start cold.

I wouldn't say he gets a pass, his play has been subpar too. But it's more an indictment on the team that he has to be at MVP-calibre for the team to have a chance at winning.

the only possible one was Marino that I saw - and that is a curious pass by us. Not sure why that deal wasn't made tbh, other than cap space. Just a small detail

I never saw a single verified report of a top RHD for Miller or Boeser.

I'm not even sure if cap space was the issue. From the reports out there, apparently the team didn't want to part with Rathbone in that deal, the guy who's not even allowed to touch NHL ice right now. So the Marino money went to signing Mikheyev instead.
Rathbone+ for Marino isn't looking too bad right now.

Well I finally got the lines I wanted.  I wanted to see Podkolzin with Petey and Kuzy.  And I think Mikheyev and Garland will work well with Miller.  And Pearson Horvat Boeser have lots of chemistry together.  So this is it.  These are the lines we have all been waiting for.  I feel bad for Hoglander.  I would have put him on the 4th line and taken out Joshua.  Joshua does not provide anything at this point and deserves to sit until he learns his job is to be more aggressive and to be a 4th line grinder.

Agree. Joshua has been so underwhelming this season so far. Why do big boys always forget that they're big as soon as they get to Vancouver?

Honestly couldnt even care less about Rathbone at this point.  You cant have 2 small dmen that cant defend on the same roster playing.  We'd have lost the game before it even started.  Package him with Boeser to whoever will take em.

The interesting thing about Rathbone is that there were rumours he could be packaged up to bring in John Marino (source) who, by all accounts, is having a very strong start to this season as a RHD. But the team thought trading Rathbone was too high a risk. So it's just one more question in the overall puzzling nature of this management's vision.

This whole Rathbone situation has me perplexed. The team doesn't seem to want to dress him and Hughes together. So then what's the point of having him up in the NHL? Well, having him up as emergency on the road trip in case Hughes gets hurt makes sense. Then they send him down to Abby after the road trip? Then what was the point of signing him to a one-way deal? Showcase him for a trade? But they're not showcasing him. I don't understand.
