Ok man, for the record I'd like to see him score goals as well but we both know that's not likely to be his game right now. The truth is, if he keeps playing this way he's likely to be one of the first guys off the team no matter how much effort he puts in because of the lack of results. 

I'm okay with where he is right now on our roster though. We aren't contending for the Cup unless we get insanely lucky. Let him have this year to figure his $&!# out and if he doesn't, well, ask more of him next year.

For Christ's sake, it's not any players fault where they were selected, and he's 22, and he's never played a full season in this league. AND he's playing on this team, with this roster, right now. Sure he's got an opportunity here since we lack a lot of prospects to just plug into the line up, and yet people cry about results after 58 games and never even really having a full rookie season.

Does his effort on the 4th line mean nothing to anybody? The same 4th line that has been one of the best we've had in a long ass time. Think about that before shipping him off for, I'm projecting now, Labate or someone who will be more raw and probably take more penalties and piss people off for all kinds of other reasons.

Results. From a 4th liner. Give me a &^@#ing break.

I think folks are still miffed that Gillis used a first round pick for a 4th liner, and the 2nd round pick was Mallet.

G-man is only 22.

Statistically, when compared to Virtanen; Virtanen is Ovechkin.

Virtanen: 7g 7a in 65gp

Gaunce: 1g 4a in 58gp

IMO Gaunce has some power forward potential. I mean he pretty much was leading Comets forwards in points last season.

Maybe he could use some more AHL seasoning? But he's defensively responsible enough for his role so I don't see a real issue.
