  1. Stop being so butt hurt about a famous hockey player who is angry at his hometown for being punched in the head in the entertainment district after a game. Newsflash. He was instrumental in the Boston Bruins beating us for the cup in 2011 and it makes some Aholes react in an Aholish manner. Get over it. Milan Lucic's opinion of Vancouver means absolutely nothing. He will be back, hopefully as a Canuck. Mikey G, fix this, trade Ballard and Raymond for Lucic.
  2. I blame Milan Lucic for every war that has ever been fought. ....and he is clearly responsible for the Rwandan genocide.
  3. Dude, get off your high horse. You must be the Super Moral Man, able to generalize a populous in a single comment. What a load of crap. I have no problem with Lucic, I think he's got a raw dea,l but it is a fairly small demographic that you are targeting and applying to an entire region. I hope Lucic reconsiders, but you can stay away as long as you want.
  4. Picking sides in this thread is like voting for a giant douche or a turd sandwich. People, a 25 year old testosterone filled hockey player let his emotions get the better of him. This is getting blown way out of proportion. Life continues....
  5. There is much more to the city he is from than DB's that go to the Roxy after a Canucks game. The city needs no defense.
  6. You don't need to say anything. Many people who were born here come to their home town and there is no issue. In this case, a known agitator and tough guy who was on the team that beat us in the SCF's was challenged and punched by some Tapout shirt wearing DB. It's between him and Lucic, leave Vancouver out of it.
  7. OK, fair enough, it's hard to disgrace a whole city, BUT, Steve Fonyo had to give back an Order of Canada, went to jail, has been convicted 5 times for DUI, has been convicted for fraud, assault and credit card fraud...and driving with a suspended license. That's a fair chunk worse than Lucic. There is more to Fonyo's criminal record, I gave the coles notes version.
  8. I agree, but it doesn't really matter if I do or not, being fans of the same team does not mean we have to agree on other aspects of society, humanity, religion, politics etc.
  9. Hey come on now, be fair, that is more of a disgrace than Lucic whining about some DB's picking a fight with him downtown.
  10. I could. My response was referencing Canucks over time, not the current group. I don't think we have a bonafide rat at this point. Burrows would be our closest thing. I'm really not keen to defend Lucic as much as defend my city. I could care less what anyone really thinks about the fans or team, it will not change how much I love my team. My city on the other hand, is AWESOME! Some of the folk who live here? Not so much.
  11. Dude, not even close. Ratt Cooke and Max Crappierre. I don't like the Bruins at all, but I'd be pretty happy if Mikey G could bring Lucic here.
  12. I think you should add an asterix to "large portion of this fanbase". The largest portion of the fanbase doesn't go downtown and has no idea what the CDC is.
  13. In your opinion...you forgot to add that part. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, facts are facts, you can't just make those up.
  14. Steve Fonyo. In my opinion his on ice play is not a factor, we have had faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar dirtier players on the Canucks and I'd really like you to break down this domestic incident.
  15. The only people we should defend is ourselves, our friends and our family. Just because someone loves the Canucks as much as I do doesn't mean they are not still a total Ahole. I totally agree with you. I will add though, every city has this type of Ahole.
  16. He shouldn't lump the people of a city into a category because of the actions of some losers that live here. Defiling his church was pretty low, targeting his parents is even lower, but a fight in a bar in on Granville, after being blown out, is not a reason to hate Vancouver. Night time on Granville St on a weekend is pretty much where every douche in the region comes with tight shirts and shaved heads, fixin' to be complete meat heads and trying to score with chicks that have all the class of a trailer park. FYI, I've lived Mid Main St for 16 odd years, I'm not some suburb dweller who hates Vancouver. Lucic shouldn't have to defend his city, there is nothing to defend, like every big city there are going to be losers that give the majority a bad name. Vancouver may indeed have a higher percentage than other places....afterall, it does attract people from all over. I feel bad Lucic was punched in the head by some meat head with a shaved head, a tapout shirt and financed wakeboard boat, I really do, but I'm not going to apologize for my city, because my city is fine, it's some of the losers that live here that are the problem.
  17. Lines get hot and lines get cold. Higgins, Santo and Kes are rolling, it's easy to call Higgins a bonafide 2nd liner right now, but when the current 2nd line cools down is he still a top 6 forward? Yes. It can't be measured in output alone, Higgins is so versatile that he fits in every role. He may be used on the 3rd, he may see time on the 1st, but I would absolutely classify him as top 6.
  18. If it were Detroit I'd say, "No country for old men".
  19. This thread is either sinking like Das Boot or it's the Never Ending Storrrrrryyyyyyyy, La la la, la la la.
  20. Wolfgang Peterson called...he wants his screenplay back.
  21. Orpik shouldn't have to fight if he doesn't want to. The refs dropped the ball, Thorton was clearly agitated and rightly so, the Pens were living up to my opinion of them, the cheapest little snerps in the league. The ref should have given Thorton a 10min misconduct before it escalated and should have kicked Neal out the game. I still can't believe Neal only got 5 games for that. Thorton will get multiple games and he deserves it. Orpik made a hard open ice hit, why should he have to fight for a good hit? Neal should have had to fight, if anyone. The Pens are the disgrace of the league. They historically tank for picks, they are the single biggest whiners in the league, they are cheap and then complain about not getting calls (kinda like the Bruins) and they employ Ratt Cooke. I literally HATE the Pens, but Orpik made a decent hit and shouldn't have to fight.
  22. Like I said, you choose your words well. It's kind of an attack though, he is not showing a lot, but he has shown some skill. He is a decent skater when he's not loafing. But hey, I want him in Utica so it's tough to argue with me on this without getting into the tired battle of semantics. He will never be like Bertuzzi in my opinion, he's not cantankerous enough. Bert is a tough comparison as well because if Nikolishin didn't jump on Bert's back and break Moore's neck, Bert would have been a vastly more productive and mean SOB of a player after the "incident".
  23. Do not overpay for a player that has a good 1/3 of a season. Don't sign him when he's rolling, wait to see what we have long term.
  24. You said you never attacked him and I must say, it took some digging, you have chosen your words. I found one though.
  25. "Kassian is a horrible skater. Never seen a great shot from him. Havent seen playmaking skills from him except for maybe 2,3 times. He seems to have no hockey IQ. You have to have a seed first before you can flourish" That's not an attack? ...and no, if we didn't trade a 10th overall pick, who was a leader in junior for Kassian, a 13th overall pick, then people wouldn't have the same expectations, that is for sure. But we did, and they do. It's not far fetched.
