  1. Rape Van Winkle http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078168/
  2. By doing what? Waivers? It's apparent to me that Burrows may be here for the duration of his contract and he is a decent enough player to keep. If we balance our lines and use our 3rd in multiple situations then he can earn his 6.5mil. His cap hit is still 4.5 so Aquamani can pay the 6mil and choose to like it or lump it. I have no issue with a 3rd line 4.5 mil cap hit if the 3rd line is contributing. I would like to see cheaper, younger options as well, but who goes? Higgins, Richardson, Matthias or Sestito.
  3. With Burrows and Hansen we could have a killer 3rd line. Maybe centered by Richardson?
  4. I watched Safe with Jason Statham last night. I decided to watch it because it got 6.5 on IMDB and I figured even it was just a regular Statham revenge movie, with that an IMDB score it would be entertaining at least....WRONG! I give it 3 /10 Bad acting, huge plot holes, no continuity and disjointed. I recommend no one watch Safe. The only saving grace is James Hong. I freaking love that guy.
  5. Columbiana for sure got extra points because of my infatuation with Zoe Saldana.
  6. I watched two movies last night. 1.) Columbiana. 7/10. Once you get past the flaws, such as the FBI using charges to bust down an apartment door instead of busting it down with a battering ram, the movie was entertaining. I love me some Zoe Saldana and you do see her boobs. 2.) What Women Want. 8/10. Admittedly (with due shame) I have seen this movie double digit times. I don't really know why I like it so much, but Bette Midler smoking a doob always makes me laugh. I don't really like Helen Hunt or Mel Gibson (Mel is a jerk) but they are magic in this film. Marissa Tomei is smoking hot. I love the concept, probably because I am inept at figuring out the fairer sex.
  7. Saw Guardians of the Galaxy on Sunday. Quite possibly my new favorite movie. It was funny, great F/X, decent acting and plot. I want to see it again. 9/10
  8. That was Glenn Hall. "The goal came off a give-and-go pass with teammate Derek Sanderson at the 40-second mark of the first overtime period in the fourth game, helping to complete a sweep of the St. Louis Blues. "
  9. Perhaps I am bias due to my love of everything related to Monty Python but I really like The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. I forgot Robin Williams was in that. That is my next movie to watch. I did just watch Premium Rush with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Not bad, not great. It was kinda funny but totally predictable. It's on Netflix.
  10. Erhoff's contract was worse than Luongo's. He's not as good as some people here believe. He's a good player, don't get me wrong, he's just not going to be worth what he signs for. Stay away.
  11. ...yeah maybe coax Bobby Orr for another year while you're at it.
  12. I sincerely hope Linden and Benning know what they are doing. I have no opinion of Desjardin good or bad, but he does look shockingly similar to my Grade 6 teacher.
  13. Newsflash, Alex Edler is not a Norris candidate. He is also not paid like one. I hate to say it, but I hope Edler stays and proves to the doubters that he can contribute to his pay scale. If he doesn't then you can rub it in my face. I also firmly believe Danny and Hank will have bounce back seasons, so I may be a glass half full guy. In Trevor we trust.
  14. Soap box commenting about this story is about as useless as male nipples. This is a tragedy, my condolences to the families, friends and co-workers of the victims. The whys, hows and results are questions better answered when more information comes out. Philosophical debates about the cause and roles of law enforcement and "ought" vs "is" are premature and show a lack of maturity.
  15. So Gulutzan gets a rose but Sully doesn't. It's never been more clear to me what needs to happen next. Trotz needs to be hired and Gulutzan needs to be the Ass. just so I can call them Beauty and the Beast. I mean it with love. I would be happy to have Trotz, I would worry about his defense style but I think he is a top notch man and coach. Don't rush anything Trev, media trolls like Gallagher will keep shoveling their poop on you no matter what you do. Make the right choices, not the easy ones.
  16. Nope, you're wrong, it's different case by case/team by team and certainly with Gillis and Torts it was all Gillis.
  17. The coach does not pick the roster, he decides which roster players play. In many cases the coach has say, look no further than Patrick Roy in COL, but in the case of Torts and Gillis, it is pretty clear from the banter before Gillis' exit that they weren't seeing eye to eye....even with a milk crate.
  18. Either that or they're really good at contextualizing stats to their advantage. They routinely work the stats backwards to fit in any scenario that fits the topic du jour. I disagree a little though, I don't think Torts did have to play them in those minutes, I think he did because the Sedins wanted to prove they could and he believed in them. They better be playing a more protected role next year. I don't blame the Sedins either, it was just a really f'd up year. I will not be upset if Torts stays or goes, but there needs to be changes in both roster and style.
  19. That looks too much like 2013/14. Expect changes.
  20. If Torts buys into Linden's vision and is willing to adjust his style to accommodate rolling 4 lines and giving the young kids a chance to grow then I hope he stays around.
  21. Agreed. I can read paraphrased quotes of what Torts said all day long here, I don't crappy Toronto media to spoon feed me their version. We already know more by virtue of being posters here. Call it what you want, everything Torts "said" is true, and I will not be upset if he sticks around...as long as he plays the Sedins with protected minutes and rolls 4 lines.
  22. Perhaps you need to brush up the roles withing an NHL team. Even so, I wouldn't have played Hunter or Horvat in the NHL either, you can hurt them far more than help them. Kids need to season in junior...even if a fanbase wants to believe they have that special exception.
