  1. I don’t wanna sound like an ass… but in this country, there is no money for successful people. The idea of tax here is to spread the wealth so whatever money you worked your ass of for, in a profession that you excel in, is simply shared with those who sit at home and do nothing. Yea sure, live frugal and buy at value village. What the heck… even doctors and lawyers in Canada are shopping at those places and going into bankruptcy. Only in this country
  2. I don’t get the hate… he’s been fine. The sexual assault thing I mean…… he is found not guilty. So…… continue to bash him just because it’s the trend I guess? That’s what people do these days anyways.
  3. No but there has to be a significant move that puts their stamp on the team. Hamonic, Dermott, Kuzmenko, mikheyev and co…. Fine. OK moves but nothing out of the ordinary of just roster adjustments that every team makes year in year out. I would’ve been impressed if they would just make a decision already with Miller or Brock. Keeping Brock means no Miller - its simple as that. If no Miller then trade Miller. Nope- couldn’t do it and they somehow say there is no urgency. Excuse me? No urgency? No freaking urgency to trade Miller? Then when? Trade deadline? When the Canucks are 2nd in the wildcard and you just go and trade him for a first? It’s baffling how they handled the boeser/Miller situation. Drag this drama on past the regular season miller ain’t gonna perform for this team knowing that he might or might not be gone by the deadline. Whatever… it is what it is at this point.
  4. And also don’t forget mikheyev played for one of the best offensive teams in the league. I mean Virtanen had 18 goals that year didn’t he?
  5. To be honest does anyone really think that JR and co is really that much of an upgrade over Gillis, Benning… managerial moves are circumstantial. Almost 8 months into the job none of this so called “improved” or “high class” or “top level” or “earth shattering” group of people have done anything of significance to this group. Mikheyev is a benning type signing. Boeser contract was just like normal, anyone would’ve pulled this off. Lazar was a benning type move. Not brining motte back is idiotic. Anyways… I always find it laughable how people are quick to come on and say how good this new group is compared to the previous regimes. Previous regimes have been around much much longer so there have been certain moves that are proven to be mistakes. I don’t know on what basis we now all of a sudden believe that JR and co can turn this thing around. 8 months in our defense is still the same. Miller problem still exists. Boeser is still on the team. Tell me Canucks fans, precisely, what is so great about JR, Alvin, Castonguay, Granato and co that screams superiority over the previous regimes?
  6. I mean he is still a very capable bottom 6. I am sure some teams will give him a look now with this out of the way.
  7. It’s funny how some fans were like: Alvin!!! Rutherford… they are going to make the team so much better! They are so knowledgeable! Castonguay, this and that… as if this is the best management group ever. Lol I don’t know how any one can simply claim that this new regime won’t make bad decisions. IMO, the Brock and Mikehyev contracts were mistakes.
  8. I just don’t believe JT wants to be back. I don’t think successful American players would “love” to play for a Canadian franchise. Let’s face it… there’s a reason why they are Americans and we are Canadians. Look at Johnny hockey. If JT wants to be back and is willing to make it work for us, he would’ve proposed better numbers for the Canucks to work with. I am sad to see Miller go but it seems inevitable. We can’t just let him walk…
  9. Am I the only one who wants to keep Miller? Simple, no playoffs for next 3/4 years if we trade him. Bottom line. I don’t think any haul is going to be that great to worth missing the playoffs 3/4 years for. I don’t know man
  10. Everything that can go wrong for DP in Vancouver has gone wrong. He has not shown anything in his starts and just looks insanely small and not ready for the nhl.
  11. Just resign the guy. Trade Boeser. That’s it. In all honesty this is what is most likely to happen.
  12. As much as he was a bust for us. He is still living a dream and making hundreds of thousands of dollars and millions in his career. easily way more than any professional businessman or professionals out there. It’s hard to imagine how much money there is out there for athletes in comparison to regular commoners. These guys aren’t even famous. I guess the education route was a complete scam…….
  13. Chiasson has a unique skill set. His offensive awareness and one touch plays are second to none. If he is a faster skater he would be a consistent 30 goal guy. For league minimum I don’t understand why we don’t sign him. Not like we have anyone in the pipeline anyways. On the other hand we have guys like Dickinson…….
  14. It’s a mystery what happened to this man. What could’ve triggered such a complete fall from grace? I mean Benning wasn’t the only one who had him high on the wish list. A lot of scouts put him up there in the top positions. Is it style of play? Injuries? Fortnight? This is some sort of a mystery warranting a documentary series almost.
  15. During covid lockdown year in a Canadian division? And in a year where petey only played 20 games?
  16. Boeser is an average second line winger. Let’s face it. I don’t get why people are so obsessed over him even when he has shown for 3 straight seasons that he is the weakest link in the top 6. He is good enough to hold a spot tho. But 7 million? Heck no. 5 million is where I would draw the line.
  17. We can’t give up garland because of Brock. It would be disastrous
  18. I don’t get why he must be signed for 6 million plus. He is a 4.5 million player. Let’s face it. We all love him as a person and as a player, he is good. But he is just a second line winger who can score 25-30 goals, or 30 ish in a career year type thing. Let’s get a deal done, but be realistic. Garland is 5 million a year and I would argue garland is a better player 5 v 5, but Brock is a better shooter. So based on this. I don’t see why Brock makes more than garland. We can offer him like a 5 years 5 million per contract. If he doesn’t take it then we might just have to move on. I don’t get where the 6 million dollars thing come from.
  19. Trotz over Boudreaux? Big no. We will be having those star players production discussions all over again next year once trotz takes over I am afraid. Keep the course and let Boudreau do his thing.
  20. Looking at tkachuk be a legit premium player hurts. Juolevi……
  21. You can see it in the players now. They know the chase is pretty over.
