  1. Dare I say that he COULD be like Nicklas Backstrom, an elite playermaker setting up an Elite Sniper (Virtanen).

Regardless i think he will produce 40-50 a year consistently and have a couple of 60-70 point seasons.

    how DARE! you?

  2. I guess but then on the other side of things he has big games when hes on. This means if he didnt score in 40 percent of his games. 45 pts were scored in 25 games, or so. he was on the sheet.

    Rekt

No but seriously wrecked, that stat makes my pant d-d-dropp

Id like to see his 5-5 ppg tho...

  3. Xx-_I think we should take Jake during off season along with a bunch of other young players and then do light skill training and such and then send him to Calgary a bit before thier pre-season or keep him for our pre-season [whichever comes first]_-xX

  4. this guy is a HUGE disappointment. if we woulda draft ehlers or nylander we would be so excite for the future but this virtan guy is so risky. hope he picks it up and become at least a david booth that is not injury prone!

  5. I find comments on his d-game always "interesting" because I have watched quite a few Adk and his Utica games and I don't get it - doesn't stand out but is no worse than any other player. Can't help but notice that the comments re his d-game started after Burke called him out on it but I can't really remember any prior to that. Also, that was more than a year ago and it does look like he has improved since then.

Should listen to Green's interview after the trade. Adamant that work ethic is not issue with Sven and that it's not in his character to expect things to be handed to him. Not the kind of person he is.
The positive of this trade is that Benning and Green are certainly not going to ask him to use Gallagher as example but play him to his strength and not make him become a player he is not.
I think it's time to move on so I am not going to list all the things that were "weird" re his usage with the Flames. I still have in mind the story of a Swiss journalist who travelled to N.A. to meet Sven (was a road trip) but instead of getting an interview with Sven he ended up writing about how the Flames played hide&seek with him and how he never got his interview (was roughly at the time of Burke's comments).
Have been a big fan of Sven since his days with the Winterhawks (not only because of his play but also because of his off-ice attitude - just comes across like an overall good kid - very active in the community too) and have kept tabs on him with the Flames; and now that he is a Canuck it's time for me to join this message board.

    WELCOME!!!

  6. After watching the game tonight, I'd be perfectly fine with Baertschi in a Canucks uniform if he brings that sort of game every night. He was absolutely dominant out there, he's like a Henrik Sedin with speed. He plays an intelligent game and is always able to create offense off the rush. I like that he's looking for passes, and staying open without the puck. I saw him back check a bunch too, with relative ease considering his speed.

The Comets are just a well coached team. Good structure and hustle top to bottom. That being said, Baertschi was the lone standout. Green must have played him 20+ on 3 different lines. He's going to be good for us.

Im getting a red, black, yellow ice skate baertschi jersey i swear to god

  7. What are you talking about re-read the thread your posting in, im confused why you expect him to be elite, telling us when he was drafted doesnt help neither does stating other established players ppgs

If you actually expect him to be a perrenial scorer then you need to explain why

  8. I'm confused why you guys have not expected elite potiental for a 1st rounder take at pick 13. Whereas, Perry was taken 28th in the first round. So why not expect elite potential from Sven? eg Marty St louis

  9. I will get excited with Sven, once he averages 2 - 3 points a game in the AHL, or if he totally dominates with a average of 1.5 points per game and dominates zone time along with +/-. Look! At the age Sven is he needs to be much better then AHL players if he is really going to be a complete player in the NHL.

Who score 2-3 points a game in the A ?

Mcdavid has 2-3 in the O

    Credibility. Gone

  10. Does anyone know what the lines are going to be in Utica?

I hope Baertschi and Conacher are on the same line.
