  1. Jim Hughson may have cursed Bennett's career by saying "18-year-old-Sam-Bennett" during the 2015 Playoffs. Since then, Bennett hasn't shown much of that he is worthy of a 4th overall pick. It has effect of a Sam Bennett who is no longer great when he is no longer 18.
  2. I would say a bit of time spent in there AHL could help him. His game on smaller ice surface hasn't been as dominant as his on bigger ice. AHL is a perfect stop gap for him before he becomes a full time NHLers. I hope he lights it up for us in his prime
  3. With some seasoning in the AHL to improve his game on smaller ice surface and adapt to the North American game, I can see him be a dominant player for us. Boeser is gonna love this guy feeding him the puck for the next decade!
  4. I realized Juolevi went from a -3 after 3 GP to an even (0) in his +/-, which suggests that he may already start to feel better playing in his new team as this indicates that he was a +3 in his most recent game.
  5. I personally see us bringing in a couple UFA veterans to anchor the bottom six or the 4th line to bring in more experiences to help this team win. As good as MacEwen looks, he is still a longshot from making the NHL. Mackenzie is also a long shot. And usually teams don't just have all 12 forwards out of players they drafted, and it's more likely to bring in some UFAs to play up and down the line up to bring some veteran guidance to a young line up (we may even see a UFA top 6 forward by the time we are contenders). I see Granlund remaining with the team because of his versatility. Lockwood would get a shot on either the 3rd or 4th line to start his career like Jannik Hansen. On defense, I think Del Zotto has a good chance of staying with the group when the rebuild is over. Tanev and Gudbranson would probably both going to be here. Tanev is by far our best defenseman currently, and by the time we are contenders, he should still be a good enough top 4 D man. It would be interesting to see if we end up with Dahlin (just dream big ) and see what we do with our LHD. Currently, Juolevi, Hutton, Pouliot and Briseboi are all LHD, if we end up with Dahlin (who is also a LHD), then Del Zotto might be the one to go and we will have to make a decision to keep one of Hutton and Pouliot as they both play a similar style game.
  6. Do you know if Lind is centering the line or is he playing the wing?
  7. Playing Head to Head against Cody Glass?
  8. What?! He didn't have another multi-point game? He is a bust!
  9. Man his passes are just so tape to tape, and those are the kind of passes that reminds of Henrik and Backstrom!
  10. I feel bad for him, I mean he is not a bad defenseman and he has just been asked to do too much. If he is on a better team as a #3 or #4 D, he would of been a beast and play so much better. At this point, I just hope he waives his no trade clause when his healthy, and get moved somewhere. Maybe a new scenery could rejuvenate his career.
  11. Man if only he didn't have mono and gets to attend training camp with us. The way I see Jesper Bratt lighting it up in New Jersey makes me wonder what Dahlen could do at the NHL level if he was healthy all summer. Bratt was drafted in the same year as Dahlen and also played in the Swe-1 League last year but has way less points than Dahlen. Still early in the season and Bratt's point total could go down as the season goes on but still, Dahlen could of been our Bratt. Hope he recoveres quickly and lights it up in Sweden and we get to see what he can do in next year's training camp.
  12. Any words on his injury? Is he playing tomorrow? How long is he out for?
  13. I will be seated in Section 115, what about you?
  14. Got tickets to the Sens game on the 10th to watch the return of Burrows!
  15. Lives in Victoria, will definitely go to the watch him play against the Royals live on Nov. 3rd and 4th
  16. If Chaput could get 1-way deal, then why couldn't Boucher. If you ask me, Boucher has better upside.
  17. I won't be surprise if he struggles a bit out of the gate as this is his 2nd year and teams going to target him more. I think he will come through this season and get a similar contract extension as Hutton did this year.
  18. Max Jones is a Ducks prospect as well, we may see a lot of heat between the 2 for years to come. But Jones has already developed a reputation of a cheapshot dirty player, I hope somebody serious teach that kid a lesson.
  19. Or maybe even Virtanen, I still haven't given up on him yet
  20. I agree, Tkachuk has already have a bad rep with the referees. We have finally gotten past guys like Kesler, Burrows (I love Burr, but the refs don't), Lapierre, Torres etc. I remember back then where the other team always have more powerplays than us in a game because the refs really disliked a lot of our players. I feel like this has changed, and most of the games I have watched last season (especially after the trade deadline when Burrows was traded away), we have more powerplays than our opposition in most games (it's just that our PP sucks and can't score). I also get a sense that the refs no longer despise our players and will actually call the game as they see fair. Tkachuk's negative antics along with the Dennis Wideman incident has led the Flames from one of the fewest penalized teams in the league to one of the most penalized teams in the league. As long as the law suit of Dennis Wideman still goes on, and Tkachuk is still with the Flames, the Flames are going to have a hard time being on the right side of the refs calls for the next decade.
  21. Just randomly browsing some of the prospects profiles and found this: http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftprospectdetail.htm?cat=3&dpid=106987&sort=finalRank&year=2017 This guy got drafted by Toronto in the 4th round but he said Bo Horvat is the coolest person he has ever met!
