  1. Jets can't chose 2 years. Arbitration only allows to cover RFA years. If the 2nd year is a UFA year the team can only get a 1-year award.
  2. It's a given that they need to move cap. As already noted they might be forced to move players they would prefer to retain. They can also combine that with a buyout or 2. Wouldn't expect them to buy out all 4. Reilly was demoted to the AHL and played only 10 games for them last season so he seems the most logical to buyout if they can't move him. 2.7M in cap space gained. They have Bergeron/Krejci's 4.5M bonus overage on their books this coming season - ie year 2 of the buyout is going to be covered by that cap space getting released. They don't have to run with a roster of 23 and could go as low as 20. Every team knew the Wild are completely cap strapped and were desperate to move Greenway yet they were still able to get a 2nd round pick. Players that other teams covet will always be worth something. Can't really expect to pay pennies if there are others teams bidding for the same player. That's not going to be Hall, Reilly but could be Carlo/DeBrusk - ie guys they would prefer to retain.
  3. Only Hischier and Hughes. McLeod was C3 to end the playoffs. Haula played a lot of wing - mostly with Hughes.
  4. Btw arbitrators cannot use UFAs as comparable. Only RFAs because the award is only for RFA years.
  5. They just extended Gaudreau at 2.1M for 5 years. He is for sure not going anywhere. Doesn't really make sense to move players on bargain deals - there's no chance they can find anyone cheaper to fill that role. Addison risks being overpaid for the value he brings to the team. Gaudreau, Hartman are underpaid for their worth to Minnesota - combine for 3.8M for playing top-9 C. Not sure possible to get much cheaper than that.
  6. CBA doesn't allow for his award to be less than 85% of his last salary so 8.5M - part of the rules for team-elected arbitration in the 1st window.
  7. They can't afford 2M. Gustavsson needs an extension - won't be much left for the rest of the roster unless he just takes a 1-year deal but Wild are trying for 3 years. Addison is available but would guess for a draft pick. Guerin admitted that it's not realistic for them to contend with the buyouts on their books. Hopes for their window to really open up once they are off the books. In the meantime they want more picks to grow their prospect pool for those competitive years.
  8. Bahl not going to cost all that much just yet unless they go longer term. Graves is asking for too much right now and he might end up UFA. McLeod is RFA - no reason for them to trade him. NJD still such a young team. This was the 1st taste of the playoffs for so many players and they still have to figure out how to be effective in the post-season. Going all in is premature. Schmid might just be their starter when they go all in but probably needs another year in Utica.
  9. Meier had a 10M qualifying offer. With NJD taking him to arbitration to by-pass that qualifying offer he was going to get at least 1 year at 8.5M in arbitration.
  10. They are trying to extend Graves and McLeod played C3/C4 for them. McLeod is RFA so would expect them to get a deal done rather than create a hole in their lineup.
  11. Conroy asked them to tell him. In his opening presser he was talking about how they don't want another Gaudreau situation where they let a high profile player go into the season without an extension and then lose him for nothing.
  12. NJD convincing players to take reasonable deals vs trying to get every crumb they can get.
  13. Meier was one of NJD's best player against NYR while not having a single point. He got under their skin and threw them off their game. There have been games in NJD where he doesn't get on the scoresheet but the goals don't happen without him because he's at the net screening the goalie or distracting the Ds.
  14. Played a large part of the season with Jack Hughes who just had a 99pt season. He really wanted to stay in NJD. At the end of season presser he said that he had already told Fitzgerald that he didn't want to go anywhere. Says he's found a home - has been through quite a few teams in the past few years.
  15. Haula has played a lot of wing alongside Hughes who is not that great at face-offs so it's Haula that was taking them. Quite a few guys played C3 for NJD this past season - wasn't just 1 player. McLeod was C3 to end the playoffs with Haula playing on wing. Haula played mostly with Hughes in the post-season.
  16. The jerseys and themed nights will still happen. The jerseys will not be worn in warmups but they will still be designed and made available for sale.
  17. With so many key players wanting to jump ship would think they'll go the rebuild route. Winnipeg is delusional if they think they can remain competitive after moving Scheifele, PLD and Hellebuyck. Calgary might just realise that they are better off to rebuild. It's moving cap without taking any back that's hard. Here Calgary has some good assets to trade and they can take cap back to facilitate the trade. Winnipeg wants players - it's harder to get full value because they are removing good players from the roster of the acquiring team. The improvement is more marginal for the team trading with Winnipeg because they are going to create a hole elsewhere in their lineup as Winnipeg wants to continue to compete. If Calgary changes direction and accepts taking a step back they could do rather well. Instead of moving the good players the acquiring team can keep the better players and dump a lesser player to make the cap work. That has a different price tag. There's a lack of Ds on the market and Calgary has them - Zadorov, Hanifin, possibly Weegar, Tanev.
  18. Natural Stat Trick. It's under their player index. Here's the main link: https://www.naturalstattrick.com/playerlist.php By clicking on the column you can sort by TOI and then team.
  19. Kane had an NMC and only wanted to go to NYR. There were no other teams bidding. Hanifin has an 8-team no trade and can be sent anywhere else - whoever offers the most is the team that will get him.
  20. His buyout cap hit is only 333K for this season. The buyout window is open till 30 June. The cap hit the following season is 1.33M but the cap is expected to rise + they will also no longer have the 4.5M for the bonus overage for Bergeron/Krejci.
  21. Mikheyev and Lazard were in part targeted to help the PK. From the press release where Allvin highlights him killing penalties: "Ilya will provide a lot of value in our middle six," said Allvin. "His versatility and ability to do so many different things will be a huge boost to our group. Solid at both ends of the ice, Ilya's speed is a real difference maker. Not only does he kill penalties, but he also can create offensively as well."
  22. Was a 3rd pairing D in Minnesota. His 1st season (2019/20) he had a stretch of maybe 15-20 games where he played with Brodin - on the right side but otherwise he played on the 3rd with mostly Brad Hunt then Cole the following season. Both seasons in Seattle he was 6th in TOI per game at 5v5 and in all situations (min 20 games). Using Natural Stat Trick at 5v5 - here are his most frequent partners: 1st season - 310 minutes with Oleksiak. 180 with Giordano. 130 with Dunn. This season - 470 minutes with Will Borgen. 440 with Justin Schultz. Next was Cale Fleury but only 55 minutes.
  23. The buyout window closes on 30 June. Pearson won't be healthy by then. Both are not eligible for the 2nd window - only contracts above ~4M are.
