they would, but they've taken over control the Republican Party. So most of them are promoting it, or complicit in it. 

Out of curiosity what do you consider far right?  For me far-right are nationalists, and white supremacists.  For conversation sake I think the far left are communists.

Anecdotally speaking I think a lot of people my age are ignorant (especially on social media).  No matter what side of the aisle they're on, people prefer to name call than figure out why they support certain policies, and politicians.

the far right would be those folks for sure, some of the militia folks, a smattering of anti-vaxxers/covid deniers and the folks suggesting that Jan 6th was no big deal. Its enough of the republican base to sway local candidate selection so its why they are all scared for their jobs.
