    just wondering... can we still buy out luongos' contract with us?

      Right now Luongo's contract isn't with the Canucks.  It can only come back to bite the Canucks if he retires from the Panthers before it expires.

       

      Also, he's expected to start the season as the Panther's starter even though he recently had hip surgery so his retirement isn't expected any time soon.

      It's still biting us every season thanks to an idiot who decided to retain salary instead of just using the compliance buyout.
