  1. The upside of the timeslot schedule I guess. Easy to lay it out in advance and know it fits.
  2. I literally can't tell if you are trolling. Espescially with fun new names like "Benn Chariot" and "Jorden Benn".
  3. I dont know if this was a mistake, or intentional shade. But it made me giggle. Likely be an overpayment fir the last 5 years....of his 5 year contract. :p
  4. Do watermelons grow on bushes? My agriculture is a bit rusty. Better just start beating and find out after.
  5. They switched from arbitrary 1 hour since last pick, to a sructured time table with 1 hour slots. It lets people schedule when their pick will be, so when they need to check back in by. Less frantic phone checking. Downside is that if we get a bunch of people actually making their picks quickly, suddenly it adds up their allowed time. Ends up with multiple hours till the next scheduled deadline.
  6. "Don't worry, 4 forwards in the 1st round is fine, we have lots of D targets in the early 2nd." Cue the ensuing 6 player run on D So be it you jackals! More forwards it is! Not getting scored on is over rated anyways. I drafted his brother with my first pick in this league, and am happy to complete the set. Buffalo selects, from the Peterborough Petes: Nicholas Robertson @Frogger do your thing
  7. I am definitely seeing that as Pac Man, majestically rising from the waters like a pixelated god of the seas. ...Although only the meistro himself can rule on that difference in artistic interpretion.
  8. Sometimes you have a guy you are targetting and want to reach for. Sometimes people snag all your hot takes, so you just take the consensus value that drops to you. Little brother Suzuki, I choose you! @JimLahey
  9. Oh dear god, you traded right in front of our NEXT pick as well? Cold hearted.
  10. 6 hours until @apollo is skipped. Feeling ready to keep the ball rolling @Nail?
  11. Arthur Kaliyev. Will update and post a proper image when im home. Really wasnt sure he would get there. @apollo I think
  12. At this point I fully intend to take 130 hours on our pick just to assert dominance. Those gates have been opened, and I am moonwalking right through them.
  13. Yeah I think we discussed it and ruled that it was kosher. But banned multiple teams retaining on the same player (which is legal IRL). So we can't bounce a player through Art to stack up extra retain. But they can do this version if it is the only retain on the player.
  14. It is a funny old league, when Lowry produces more than Ehlers. But you can't argue with 220 odd hits. Happy to spend a couple of our stockpiled picks to fill out another gap on the roster. Lock down a quality third line center on a good team. The rebuild looks to be on track, and we hope to ice a much more respectable roster this year. The forwards are coming together nicely: Jonathan Marchessault Mikko Rantanen Nikolaj Ehlers Brady Tkachuk Ryan Nugent Hopkins Brendan Gallagher Brock McGinn Adam Lowry Travis Konecny Jason Dickinson Ryan Poehling Jayce Hawryluk Defense is looking a bit thin behind a strong top end, until a couple more prospects come online: Rasmus Risolainen Jacob Slavin Nikita Zadorov Mirco Mueller Dan Hamhuis Evan Bouchard .....And we still have a pile of empty goalie gear in net. One day we will find our goalie of the future, but not this day. The roster is still a long way off from competing with any of the absolute powerhouses of the league, but also a long way from the junkpile we acquired. I am happy that we managed to make progress without sacrificing our plan to build through the draft. With four 1sts this year, 2 last year, and 2 still upcoming next year, reinforcements are still coming.
  15. Naaaw he was stressed about someone picking a Canadian that he wanted wasnt he?
  16. I would need one of those "new set of knees". I think I will stick behind the bench!
  17. Jesus, you are 6'5"? Somehow that is hard to fit with my mental image! Can we draft you in this draft? We could use a little size on D.
  18. Man once you end up with that many moving parts I completely lose track of value. There is probably a reason we have done more simple buy and sells than massive blockbusters. I definitely struggle to look at a trade that large and parse who wins, when it is so far outside of anything I have seen IRL.
  19. Oooof. Friday. The good old 130 hour draft pick. I guess time to check out for a while.
  20. Would be a shame to have to shorten everyone because we spent all of our spare time on one guy.
  21. Granlund didnt play a full season this year. But for the past two years he put up 67 and 69 points. That would be more than either Horvat or Petterson got this year I beleive. Wouldn't mind having him. But he is probably a first line player on our team.
  22. It occurs ro me that I added the next GM tag via edit instead of original post. I don't know if that pings him properly. @canuckledraggin might have never gotten an update. (No worried if you are just taking your well deserved time)
