I am expecting Lockwood to spend another 2 years under Red Berenson. Not only will it be nice to see us take our time with some of these college guys but Berenson is a big fan of Lockwoods and he'll get every opportunity to succeed there. He could turn into another draft day steal if Red can keep him for two more years...

WD can't coach the youth which wouldn't bother me so much if he could coach the veterans but he can't seem to do that either...

Maybe an AHL replacement for Labate when he makes the Canucks in the fall?

Empty net goal for Gaudette in their game against Boston College yesterday in Beanpot tourney. He is now 6th in division 1 scoring, 21 goals and 24 assists in 29 games.

I've been searching trying to find the quote. But I remember his coach at Northeastern saying when he came to the team last year he though he might have a chance to make the NHL one day, but this year he started to wonder if he was actually going to need time in the AHL or if he'd be able to make the jump straight to the NHL. I'm still looking for it...

Back to the subject though...I am very impressed with how quickly Trymakin is adjusting to the NHL. His desire to learn is excellent and I can't wait to watch him grow alongside our other good young players.

I agree and I think Will Lockwood is going to be that type of player from the limited highlights I have seen from his first season in Michigan that is exactly what he brings.

Gaudette with a goal in the first period tonight. Nice hands knocking it in out of the air...

I am not saying Tkachuk isn't a good player just not what I wanted to see on our team. And to my mind if I am not taking Tkachuk then OJ had to be the pick, no one else was close enough in my humble opinion.

I was very happy with this pick as well. Didn't want a jerk on the team and Tkachuk seems to have a lot of Kesler's attitude. OJ will probably need a year or so in the AHL but long term he should be a way more valuable player than Tkachuk, he sees the ice so well and thinks the game at such an elite level even if he doesn't translate into an Erik Karlsson type power play quarterback he has the potential to be the best defenseman Vancouver has ever had. I would be more than happy if he developed into a Paul Reinhart type dman
