  1. I can't speak for the owners, but only for how I would respond in their position. If it were me, I believe that the whole thing needs to be torn down. That's GM right through the make-up of the team. I personally would let the coach go at this point and just have Shaw take over in the interim. I wouldn't expect miracles, just hope the team finds some cohesion and maybe get our star players looking somewhat better. I would advise Jim that no trades can be made without consent of ownership. My efforts right now would be to find the best possible President of Hockey Operations for this team, and let them evaluate what is happening both in the office and on ice and then let them decide on a GM and then have the GM and President determine the new coach going forward. This process could take some time. At this point, I wouldn't be in a rush just to change "something", it is already too late. 2 - 3weeks ago, it may have worked, now its about finding a permanent "fix". Does this affect the fan-base? Definitely. However, if you can truly fix the issues top down, then hopefully what you would build would offset the damages.
  2. 5-1 MTL / VAN - Because I'm sure we can find new ways to loose. 1-0 VAN / ME cause they sucker me into watching another one.
  3. Honestly, the seasons flushed. Wipe the whole slate clean. If you feel it's unfair to Green then let him go and let Shaw step in. Then get a real President of Hockey operations and let Benning go. At that point let the President hire his own GM and they subsequently get a permanent coach. No point in rushing hirings at this point but for the players, maybe at least a coaching change is worth it for the interim.
  4. I'm not worried about Petey. Both he and Boeser will go on a 30 goal tear in the last half of the season to ensure we get a crappy pick.
  5. To misquote a highly paid player: "I want to cheer for a winning team."
  6. Boeser. Oh I thought it was predict who scores for us. 5-1 Columbus. We score in last 3 minutes.
  7. Good news in all this is that the Pacific Northwest Rivalry is alive. The fight for 27th is on and we are ahead. They do have a game in hand though. Real nail-biter.
  8. As an aside. Did Edler leave the name of his stick supplier with the team. How many broken sticks again tonight?
  9. Slowest skater. Lost out to their goalie because he barely had to move all game.
  10. Hard to believe after that display that our PP isn't one of the top in the leauge.
  11. NHL using this opportunity to get Penguin's power play going. I hope it backfires and gets our PK going instead.
  12. Speed is not edges. He has speed. He isn't great with his edges (look at him vs Quinn). Quinn is a bit slower but exceptional edges.
  13. I think we can all admit when Petey (and even before) broke into the league, he was dazzling with quick hands and an incredible shot. What I couldn't understand was how he seemed so dominate yet his skating was so weak, even then. Go back and look at old clips, he has always skated with spindly style (the bambi gif isn't far off). However, he was always charged with energy and always drove to get on the back-check (frankly to a point of being scary as he would crash/slide and you would fear he would hurt himself). This offset the poor skating. But I think other teams have the book on him. Ignore the puck, play the man. Don't let him set up for a shot just go after his body, just play him physically. Sadly, I'm not 100% sure Petey has the heart for it. He seems to have lost that fearlessness that served him so well. When was the last time you saw him anywhere near the opposing net. When was the last time you saw him fly back into the play to break it up defensively. Not sure if his injury hasn't had some psychological side effect. I think he still knows the game but is playing with subconscious fear and this is why he passes away the puck (badly) and fumbles the puck when stickhandling (not wanting to get slashed again) or more worried about having his head on a swivel. I hope he can find his way through it and start to enjoy himself again.
  14. Okay after a very negative week, I'll try to be more positive: We .... will..... not suck as badly. It's all I got right now. Hopefully we can squeak one out in OT to get the ball rolling. Or not. No, no we definitely can. Maybe. If we get lucky. For sure.
  15. Dear ALoyal Fan, Thank you for your money. See you next year. A.
  16. I think I'm with you. I may not agree with some of the systems I see in place, but execution is absolutely horrible and even if those systems may not fit the players themselves, they should be able to execute somewhat. That's on the players and I believe there is something wrong with the culture in the room itself. I have my guesses but of course it is all speculative. What is apparent is that "professional" players are not playing up to levels well below expectations. I'm at the point that I'm not even sure a coaching change will fix the above. If that's the case then bring in a new GM and let them determine if its the coach or players or what then start making changes from there.
  17. "The soul searching begins...". Screw that. Find some heart. About 5 players that seem to care at this point. Garbage.
  18. Gah this version of Petterson is making LE @ 6x6 a steal.
  19. Win or Lose I'm claiming a moral victory if we keep them to a field goal.
  20. Good News everyone!!! We are keeping them to one touchdown a game!!!!
