Solid first period. First game I have been able to watch and man oh man this team seems more exciting to watch this year

I would argue that Island fans have more opportunity than us Rural BC fans (no option for preseason either). It is much easier (and cheaper) to walk onto the ferry then bus to the game then drive for hours to Vancouver, find a place to stay, etc. Although I always look forward to my 1 (or 2 if I am lucky) games a year that I see in person. I hope people who live in Vancouver appreciate the opportunity they have when it comes to live NHL hockey - even us in rural BC have to appreciate our team being closer than some fans in other provinces, countries etc.

This game is really showing me why it is so important to have defensemen who can actually get the puck up ice

Miller and bo look great but I can’t help but think how much better they would look with a true goal scorer. Makes me wonder what a miller bo Boeser line would look like

I am just sitting here waiting for the articles and videos from the 'experts' insisting that the Canucks have no identity and no direction and failed this off season.... Somehow they will say this signing (Ferland) made us worse and will definitely finish last now hahaha Great to see how many players signing here are referencing our young guns as a reason for wanting to come here ... For actually chosing us over other options. Been a while, but now I remember how good it feels to be a choice destination.

What is shocking me is the media (even though it shouldn't)...grading Canadian teams thus far in the off season. Toronto gets and A mean while the Canucks were given a B- by these so called experts !?!? Got to love how the media constantly undervalues the Canucks. I for one am excited to see what this group can do next year. I am hopeful for a playoff berth, but time will tell.

Not saying I am for or against Myers necessarily...I just love how people want us to get back in the playoffs without trading anything away to get better. Why trade an asset when you can sign it for free but then we are all mad about over paying in FA. Also almost everyone we want to wait and get for free ends up being resigned. *I know this isn't everyone but a good chunk of comments fall into this lately

I am so torn on this trade. Excited for Miller concerned about giving up a first. Hopefully Benning can acquire a first somewhere else (like a Marleau situation) then I would be really happy again.

What has really impressed me is not only the offensive abilities but how smart he is defensively. Few times last night he coughed the puck up but he would make some smart play and regain control. When our forwards are solid defensively it makes the job a heck of a lot easier for the defense and allows them to contribute more offensively instead of chasing down the opposition.
