No need to have that dynamic in the locker room. He could have been a Chris Pronger Type player but is a total head case. Burk went on and on about the possibility of loosing Hughes to free agency if he plays 4 years of college a way to get around that is to sign him now give him a Pettersson type of contract. Play him here or send him overseas to develop if he is not ready. But as far as I could see he looked good for team USA at the worlds. Hell Play him even I would buy season tickets.

So after reading all the latest posts . Im sorry I have to disagree. Eriksson was brought in to be a 30 goal man not a baby sitter not a defensive specialist , a point producer period the rest of his game is a bonus. We can get two players that would have the same cost with greater production for what we pay him. Saying we haven't found a play making center to play with him is weak at best. Maybe a healthy scratch would bring some fire into his belly. Two weeks ridding the pine may help his attitude. JB screwed the pooch on this one.

After two games at the worlds I don't see any domination, touches of brilliance yes , he is young playing against men yes he has elite skill but until his body catches up. Time will tell I want him on the team as much as anyone but one more year of development would go along way .

So let him develop a little more whats the rush clearly from the worlds he is getting pushed around he needs to develop physically one more year would not hurt.

Utica is a lot rougher league a lot of Pro players played D + 2 in the SHL so he dominates anther year all that much better , why rush him clearly he needs more time to develop did you watch any of the world champ games .?
