Those teams remind me of when Canucks were elite 12 years ago, they could get out played most of the game but then when they wanted to they would turn it on, score in bunches, and win the game. They’re a different class and even when being outplayed look in control of the game.

Didn’t BB say after the Florida loss that good teams don’t lose 2 in a row? The effort has been there this road trip we’re just not a good team. Lots of holes to be filled. Outside of Hughes the D doesn’t help at all offensively so it may as well be 3v5 in the offensive zone if he’s not on the ice. No game breakers at forward. JR has his work cut out for him but I’m excited to see what he can do!

Yes they have, and they played great in 2/3 of the games on this road trip. Not trying to argue that, it’s just not an excuse because they’re just not a great team. Can’t hang with the best but hopefully JR can change that.

Florida had 13 days off then came back and played Rangers and won 4-3, then Tampa the next day and won 9-3. I don’t believe it’s the 10 day break that’s the issue and I think it’s a dumb excuse. The reality of it is the team just isn’t that good, and the good teams of the league are exposing that. It is what it is, it’s the team benning built and they’re a fringe playoff team at best. Now it’s Rutherfords team and I’m sure we’ll see some big changes.

Unfortunately Canucks are just completely outclassed by every team on this road trip. Long way to go to become an elite team, hopefully this gives JR a good idea of what the team needs. Unfortunately I think we’re on the hunt for another true #1 C, not saying pettersson can’t bounce back but I still don’t think he’ll be at the level a true #1 cup winning C needs to be at.

It pretty much guarantees the hunt for a playoff spot is over though. Barring a 10 game win streak.

Why should they? It was a perfectly clean hit. It’s annoying how there is always fights and players going after other players for clean hits. Keep your head up.

Nah man, this is just how the canes play day in day out. They’re ridiculously fast and relentless.

At the end of the day Canucks need to find a way to win these games, they need points and if they lose the next 3 barring a 10 game win streak the playoff hopes are all but done.

Demko definitely isn’t the problem but I do agree that he needs to play at least equally as good as the opposing goalie. Canucks played hard and their top players need to find a way to score or they won’t win, but at the same time he needs to play equal to the other goaltender. Also he let 8 in, not 9. The empty net doesn’t count.

Canucks top players? No they’ve had 0 points the last 2 games, not scoring at all that was my point

Not surprised by these losses to the Florida teams, they’re elite cup contenders. I’m happy with the effort and they could have won but the team really needs their top players to play like top players. 0 points in the past 2 games won’t cut it.

Yeah cause it’s still not enough, he’s our highest paid forward and he held out past training camp to get that pay day. And now he’s been one of our worst forwards all year. Can’t talk a big game without being able to back it up.

I mean they were also hemming Tampa in their own zone for a lot of the first period.
