  1. Jakes the exact kind of player we need, especially in the playoffs. He’s still young, I’m confident he’ll be a 20 goal guy in his prime.
  2. Just watched Boeser’s insta story and he is watching midget wrestling instead of training... Every player takes time off once their season is over, you’re being ridiculous.
  3. Agreed, hopefully he can stay healthy now. Probably would already have a spot on the team if not for all the injuries and time lost. Anyways back to Madden. Does he play wing too? Will be interesting to see how fast he fills out. Needs to put on atleast 15 pounds before he turns pro, 150 at 5’11 is pretty slight.
  4. A lot of games I’ve watched from Juolevi he gets beaten on the outside and doesn’t have the quickest feet. No denying his offensive and puck moving ability, but he still needs work on his defensive game. His coaches and people who watch him have said the same. Maybe try reading the post I replied to? I was talking about Bouchard...
  5. The guys one of the best goal scorers in the league and still had a good season barely being able to skate for half of it. I can easily see him putting up 40+ goals next season and be ppg, especially with Hughes on the team now and another free agent signing. I just can’t see him making less than 7 long term when you look at other contracts around the league.
  6. You said the same thing about Boeser and Pettersson. No way Hughes sees the AHL.
  7. I don’t think they’ll cut him loose due to the Tryamkin factor. Agree about the Hutton situation, hopefully he can come back next season and be a legit top 6 winger. Still think it was a weird time to scratch him. Was playing some of his most complete hockey and has hit as many posts as anyone in the league probably.
  8. Was probably a lot easier for Virtanen to cross over in the neutral zone in jr. Doesn’t seem to be enough space or time for him to do it as often in the NHL. Still think he should line up on the left side on some face offs.
  9. He has slower feet than Juolevi. Which imo is one of the reasons Juolevi struggles a bit defensively and gets walked a lot.
  10. Hoping he doesn’t play till the weekend since I can’t watch till then haha.
  11. I think he needs that little bit of a wind up right now for his wrist shot. That’s how he generates so much power for how small he is. Once he gets stronger he should be able to get it off quicker with the same velocity.
  12. Wow weird, worked for me too.
  13. I really hope he plays on the weekend. Only games I can watch.
  14. Yup, he’s going to get paid decently... Not too many guys in the league can put the puck in the net like him. I think him, his agent and management know a lot of his less than stellar play this season has been because of injuries and no off season training. Also too much size added to his upper body since he couldn’t work his lower half. I’ve experienced the same when I played and it affects almost every part of your game.
  15. I was also thinking this. Especially with Guddy gone and Roussell out for the season. We have no toughness in our lineup now besides Beagle. Don’t want anymore cheap shots. On a positive note, atleast he’s getting his sophomore slump out of the way
  16. Yeah but it’s getting annoying now. People come here to discuss hockey and the Canucks, not live in fantasy land. Not sure how an 18 yr old defensman on pace for over 40 points can be overrated. It’s like calling Pettersson overrated and saying Glass will be better than him.
  17. Dahlin can’t defend but Risto is a beast? Pretty sure Risto is terrible defensively and is like -130 in his career.... Dahlin can also lay people out.
  18. The good thing about Juolevi is a lot of the work he needs to do is physical. He already has great hockey sense. Just needs to rehab, get stronger and faster and I’m sure he’ll be a top 4 for us in the next couple of years. We won’t be a decent team till then anyways so I don’t see the huge rush.
  19. It was either that offer or Teves goes elsewhere... We also need good players in Utica to help our prospects develop even if he doesn’t make the NHL, and I’m pretty sure almost every player on their team regressed in points.
  20. I’m pretty confident Hughes will take the league by storm offensively like Boeser and Pettersson did. Might be a bit of an adventure in his own end, but better for him to make those mistakes now and learn from them in meaningless games. I also think there will be a bit of a trickle down effect and the rest of the d will play better.
  21. He’s been good at getting his shots through lately. If he keeps his play up the rest of the season and maybe even keeps improving, I could see him taking the #6 spot next season. He brings a lot of speed, energy and aggressiveness to the team, something we really lack. Let’s see if it lasts...
  22. Not just sophomore slump, but also, back, groin, wrist injuries, no off season training, and that back injury definitely hampered his skating which was already a weakness. I see him putting close to 50 next year once he regains his mobility.
  23. Anyone know how Dahlens looked? PPG so far for the Sharks farm team and some fans are saying he looks much better than he did in Utica. If that is true then I do have some concerns about what’s going on in Utica, but he had 7 points in 7 gp before the trade so...
