  1. I haven't done crossfit, but it is similar from what I hear. The difference is that you have two trainers with you the whole time making sure your form and technique is right so you don't injure yourself. It made a huge difference for my life. I lost 25 lbs in my first two months and put a lot of muscle on. I am 44 and I am in better shape now then when I was in my late 20s early 30s playing hockey.
  2. Anyone do F45 here? I have been doing it for a year and it has made a huge difference for me.
  3. He looks like Charlie Bucket's uncle from the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie.
  4. That's too big of an overpayment to move out salary IMO especially for Sutter who will have some value. I could see Jake being thrown in for a Louie move, but not Juolevi.
  5. You hope the package would include Juolevi? Why would you wish that? He hasn't even had a shot to prove himself yet.
  6. Your best ability is your availability, and Tanev is absent more than I was in grade 11 Earth Science class.
  7. I would love to grab Miller and Reaves. Addresses two areas of need for us.
  8. Hughes is slated to be a third pairing D man to start the season from reports I have heard. TG wants players to earn their ice time.
  9. If he would learn to use that speed and drop his shoulder and drive to the net more he would be someone that I wouldn't want to give up on, but I don't see enough of it from him. You want a guy with a non stop motor and he hasn't shown that.
  10. I don't think Jake sucks. I see Jake as being a guy who can score 20 goals in the league, but I do not see him being a 30 plus guy. He is not the next Cam Neely, or Todd Bertuzzi.
  11. Not that I like Sekeres, but didn't he break the news about Linden leaving? He seems to have a source for info, or maybe I'm wrong here?
  12. I don't mind losing Tanev if it means we keep our first round pick. Tanev only plays half the year anyway, and when he went down again last year our guys seemed to play well without him.
  13. Trade Marky for Risto, sign Bob and Panarin, and voila, hello playoffs. Sarcasm on?
  14. Having two D-men that can drive the play on two different pairings would greatly help our puck possession #s.
  15. I still disagree with you on this one. You said it yourself, his problem is he doesn't go to the net. He is a big body perimeter player, and for him to realize his potential, he will need to drive the net and go to the dirty areas to score. Like I mentioned before, look at Neely's and his stat lines for the first four years and you will see that Neely has a bunch of PIMs from mucking it up hitting and fighting, and Jake doesn't bring that as of yet. If a power forward prospect isn't scoring goals then he will need to be making more of an impact on the ice in other areas (ie: physicality), and Jake doesn't show that. JV has the speed and the tools, but the main thing that separates him from Neely is that Neely had a mean streak and drive, but I don't see that from JV and I wish that wasn't the case because I want to see the local kid do well.
  16. There is sure a lot of hope in Tree around here I understand the hype around him because of the Chara comparisons, but to think he will step in and be a top 4 impact player for us when/if he comes back is extremely optimistic.
  17. You're right, but he was having an impact on the ice while not putting up points. Jake hasn't shown that he is more than a big guy who can wheel down the wing and shoot the puck and then fly behind the net. Don't get me wrong, I really like the kid and would love for him to succeed, but at some point you have to move on.
  18. True, but do you really feel like Jake is going to put it together here? I really hope he does because I want to see him succeed, but if there is a deal that can improve the team then you do it. Not that this is a determining factor, but go and look at Neely's, Bert's and Jake's PIMs in their first four years in the league. Neely and Bert racked them up and Jake hasn't. That tells me that Bert and Neely were more involved physically, and Jake not so much. If Jake didn't have his size we wouldn't be talking about this, but the fact that he hasn't had an impact on the score sheet in either points or PIMs is telling for a power forward.
  19. I'm old enough too, and you cannot compare Jake to Cam Neely. Neely played a heavy game and could got to the net and score, and Jake doesn't. Jake is a fast winger that has a good shot. Cam Neely was a bull in a china shop who hit, fought and scored and Jake doesn't seem like he wants to be that guy.
