If things are based on probabilities then yes odds are he would leave based on what he’s said. Are you the type of person who blindly believes everything politicians say when they’re making campaign promises?

Beyond delusional is a strong choice of words haha. I see two franchise level NHL players on our roster and you seem to think otherwise. You are also the one who is aiming for a mediocre team by seemingly wanting a full rebuild. Arizona has been perpetually rebuilding, the Sabres have too. Edmonton is another team.

We are going to be mediocre next year as well. lol. We might as well be building towards the future if we are going to do that. You think we are amazingly better right now?

Sometimes it is hard to read our fan base.  First we hang on to bottom 6 guys too long and get nothing for them. Then its we don't have enough draft picks.  Now we are upset we traded a 4th line plug for a 4th round pick.  What is going to make everyone happy?  I am starting to think it is impossible to make everyone happy and I've always thought of myself as an optimist.  If the deal that is made that involves a draft pick, so what.  As long as its a fair deal and it helps the team, it has to be considered.  I liked the Hronik deal.  Yes we may have over paid a bit but it wasn't astronomical and we saved on the years of development and get a player that fits well with our core.  That's a win in my mind. B)

A Stanley Cup at some point might help. 53 years and counting. Tampa Bay has had three since 1992. Nuff said.

Nothing wrong with that and a noble goal but we haven't been able to even do that for years.   I think it's beyond a shadow of a doubt that the short-cut "win-now - at all cost" attempts forced by Aqua-lini (to keep seats warm + $) have resulted in bad trades, terrible contracts and overall failure and fan disappointment - and this didn't start yeserday.

it's been going on for years and in a recent poll on here (CDC) 79.38% of fans clearly voted to tank and rebuild this team because this same group of players have not been able to accomplish anything for years with this assembly of incompatible players.

So while being part of the remaining 20.62% minority of fans is not a crime in itself, it simply shows some fans have lower expectations and a shorter patience level than others.  All the power to them but the majority of fans are "SICK & TIRED" with the status-quo for over a decade and want to see a cup here before they're dead.

Honestly what kind of person ignores a majority of the fanbase and goes with the minority? I will tell. A GREEDY ONE. He's a big reason I fight to support the organization. I have to detach him from the team because what he does feels greasy.

It’s not a personal attack. Some ppl are having constructive pro/con debates and conversations and others just want to interrupt them but contribute nothing to it, to the point that the “truth” you mention isn’t even articulated in any part of their responses.

He said "You must be using the "New Math" to explain what value that is when we're almost dead last in the bottom basement of the league and out of the playoffs............. AGAIN ..............for the umpteenth year!     It's fan acceptance like that  - that allows this franchise to wallow in the mud for years."

Fans do accept what they are doing because they still go to the games and fill Rogers Arena. As long as that place is full and he's making a ton he won't change. We all influence his decisions. So there is truth to what he said.

What’s your long term plan tell us. Are you all up for shipping out EP40 & Hughes? The players have literally told management they’ll walk if they rebuild. Are you suggesting a full year down? Getting depth pieces isn’t as hard as accruing top tier franchise level defencemen and centres.

You don't build a team based on what your top players want. How is that building a healthy and sustainable future? If they want to pout about it. Tough. You make millions. If you had played better at the start of the year the team wouldn't be in this position. Do we really want players who say I don't want to do it properly? Find me shortcuts to make it easier.

    Nice try though....image.jpeg.a2d2bc84434d63654f4bc6b074ebd762.jpeg

Some fans just want playoffs not a cup. They are willing to take shortcuts like ownership. How has that worked out for those people so far?

This time really is different though, we have 2 franchise players and a potential top 10 goaltender hitting their primes, and its not fair to judge this management team against the mistake of the past regime.

This management team has not traded our first round pick, like Benning did.

Instead, with some maneuvering, they exchanged an expiring UFA Bo for a top-four RHD, and has been excellent at acquiring cheap or free quality assets (Filip Johansson, Kravtsov, Bear, Kuzmenko, Mikheyev).

This is the best performed retool on the fly Ive seen so far. They got a good prospect for.. Riley Stillman? They got a pick for Lazar who they picked up for free as a UFA. They are managing assets extremely well.

Was the 1st + 2nd an overpayment for Hronek? Maybe, it remains to be seen. But we cant judge that until we see him play.

A team that sits at 27th in the league should have no thoughts of retooling on the fly because IT DOESN'T WORK. I think it's been proven enough. Sometimes you just have to wave the white flag. One major problem stands in the way of that. Aquilini's ego. It's way too big for this city. Yes we have three main players but really all we have done is guaranteed we are going to be mediocre yet again. We aren't close to being a contender. Contenders have way more than three players. Aquilini is toxic.

It’s absolutely exhausting the refusal of not rebuilding the team as every single team has to go through it. We needed to do it in 2018. Canucks legend Linden left this franchise because ownership refuses to build the team like Detroit is doing,LA, Chigago, Minny,San Jose,Washington and Nashville.

It’s super bleak and I’m just about done giving this team anymore of my time (money is a given) nothing is going to change until Aquilini accepts a rebuild or sells the team. People can flame me all they want and try and say that the retool on the fly method works. How have the last 9 seasons worked out? If we just went with lindens plan, we would most likely be out of it right about now. I will bet that most of the teams I said above will be ahead of us in the standings. NYR Devils and Minny already are when they started rebuilding in and around 2018 when linden was requesting ownership for a rebuild.

It’s absolutely maddening to keep supporting this mandate of “retool on the fly” I can get behind a proper plan, but this whole run it back to be competitive and make the playoffs makes me numb and apathetic as it is with other fans. Very close to taking a longtime break. I’m not switching teams but switching my time management. A few playoff birth appearances doesn’t equate to a cup victory as some posters believe it is. So done Kodos. This is a toxic relationship/ drug. I need to go to rehab and seek help.

Not only that but a playoff berth is such a low bar. It seems it's all they want just to put money into their pockets. Sickens me really. No aspirations to get a cup.

I really don't think there's going to be any more trades. Especially blockbuster deals.

I'm wondering if the ask was too much, or just no teams can take on cap. Or feel our players are worth taking on cap.

It always feels like we are the team who has players nobody wants or teams want to give us the worst return back because they know they can outwait us. I am just waiting to hear all the crap that management tries to spin especially when it comes to getting more cap space. All these promises and nothing has come of it.

Watch how long it takes Detroit to once again to make the playoffs for like forever. Stevey Y is building a deep organisation.

Even from a money grubbing perspective, ownership would be wise to accept that kind of idea. Always make the team stronger.

Even rich guys fail at math though, it's kind of tragic.

Unfortunately its been almost a decade of it.

I don't need you frightening me. It could go well. Or they could marry themselves to mediocracy and cap prison.

And people are worried about keeping Hughes and Petey. Be buyers with a bad team? They might like it, but in a year or two, well.....

This organization feels likes they purposely do the opposite of every other team and that they could care less it if works just as long as they are different with no real purpose as to why they do things that are puzzling. It feels more like "hey we did something different than everyone else and that makes us special." It just means your really really foolish and bring the problems that come along with that thinking on yourselves. It feels like an Aquillini issue.
