  1. Canucks management to Pittsburgh management: We are not rebuilding! So they were offered multiple picks and they could have gotten off his contract. You take it. They need to free up money. Man it just makes me angry we are in perpetual retool mode. It gets us where? No cap space, no picks but hey we can always look forward to the end of the season winning streak. It's our own little Stanley cup. You're not smart if everyone on the planet who knows hockey is saying what the heck are they doing. They just are a laughing stock.

  4. Well we are keeping with tradition by trading our picks, we might as well keep with tradition and go on our yearly winning streak at the end. Why this team tries so hard after they are out of it is beyond me. Then the fans who say this winning will do wonders come out and guess what, it don't mean crap. When has winning at the end of the year ever amounted to anything of significance?

Win or lose, they’re putting up a fight and I like to see that. So many times I have seen them play and they seem lifeless.

Well it is the end of the year. It's the end of the year play hard. We see this every year. It's not that surprising. They oddly play harder when they are out of it.

Yup. Our owner pushes his management team build for the next season, and at the cost of the seasons that follow. But Hronek is only 25 and a #3 D. So we have a 23 year old #1 and a 25 year old #3. Man be we can fill the 2 and 4 spots with older UFA signings or via trade for older guys?

Ya and if they had done it properly 8 years ago we might have been competing for a cup by now. So many wasted years. Might be another next year.

Well, if you want to lose Hughes and Pettersson I guess we can do it your way then? Hughes literally said today they wouldn't be staying for a rebuild...

This move does not make them a ton better. They have so many holes. Either way they are only marginally better and they still aren't improving their farm. Stuck in the middle. That's where we like it. What you think we are a contender now? Lol. When has fast tracking ever worked for this organization? Let's just ignore the last 8 years. They haven't gotten rid of any money. A continuation of the Benning era.

Like I said, a player drafted is going to take 3 or 4 years to make the team unless if we're seriously talking about a stud draft pick which is rare, especially with defense. You talk like this is some easy feat. It's not.

They did exactly what you wanted them to do though. You wanted the team to improve their D. They did it.

I want them to do it properly. This method doesn't work. How many more times do we have to try the same thing?

So then how do you want to build up D? Through magic beans?

A player like Livingstone's likely to have other teams also going after him and he can only pick 1 team. When do you expect that drafted D to show up on the team? Realistically, we'd likely be waiting 3 or 4 years and that's provided he makes the NHL. Is Hughes and Pettersson going to wait around that long?

That's because they never keep their picks and draft them. Lol. Am I missing something? It's been this way over and over and that's why they don't have d. Too impatient and greedy.
