  1. I started looking for stats about this but then I decided he probably can’t ante up.
  2. I need to look up how to start a go fund me page!
  3. You made me laugh! When I first read this I thought you talking about @RUPERTKBD post above.
  4. Hard to believe that it is one year since Canada reported its first case of Covid. What an ugly anniversary.
  5. Thanks for doing the math. This is why the left/right rich/poor etc. are always pitted against each other. We keep fighting rather than looking deeper at the real problem. The super wealthy play both sides against each other.
  6. It’s a little late for me to even attempt to check the math but I read something today that said if you earned $2000 per hour since the time of the birth of Christ and paid no taxes, you would only have around $8 Billion, and there would still be 30 people richer than you.Just let that sink in. 2 grand an hour for over TWO THOUSAND YEARS and your still not the richest person. The concentration of wealth is probably the single biggest reason for unrest around the world in my view.
  7. Thanks, I did see Horgan talking about that. Still I am able to remain in a fairly safe bubble. Teachers and others aren’t so fortunate.
  8. I try not to get wound up about these decisions but this vaccination schedule is the height of idiocy. I’m 62, wife and I both retired, hardly any reason (groceries, walks, etc.) to be out and about. We’ll be vaccinated as soon as reasonably possible but why the heck should we be prioritized over Stawns and others out there doing their best to keep the economy rolling?
  9. It’s hilarious! Sad that there are so many that you forget gems like this!
  10. I’ll go this far with you. His accomplishments (though I may not agree them) for his base -you’re right, he’s the first president in a long while not to start a new war -for good or bad he moved the needle in the Middle East -3 Supreme Court justices (if you’re a republican you have to love that) -he sure as hell shook up the political establishment. For his base these are all notable. Many of us feel you sold your soul to get them. You don’t, I get that. I’m not going to even try to list the harm he has done to the country, alliances, the world because the list is too long and and I doubt most of his supporters would agree with a single one. For the record I don’t agree with everything Obama did and I’ll tell you right now I wont like everything Biden will do. See we’re not evil leftist libtard socialists, we just disagree. By the way, he is NOT the evil genius Hitler might have been, he’s just an evil man with Nazi tendencies...not that there’s anything wrong with that. Oh wait, there is.
  11. I don’t either as it stirs up such emotion. The totality is not comparable but the path sure is. My wife is currently reading a fiction set in Germany during the rise of the third reich. It was written several years ago and not centrally about AH but she keep reading passages aloud that are downright eerie. If you ignore the past...
  12. ...assault free press, make Germany great again, coalesce the young/angry populace into an angry paramilitary, foment unrest by setting groups against each other, convince people that if it wasn’t said by you - it’s not true... I’m just not seeing it Lock.
  13. Right, so help me out here, I’m trying to understand. Say Trump takes a giant dump on the floor. His followers are all busy wallowing in it. I say “watch out everybody, don’t step in that steamer!” Do I have TDS?
  14. I love Piggy too, the player and the nickname. It might not be his first choice but it’s the kind of handle that could stick when his teammates hear it! Also like Pig.
  15. You gotta love Bob! Love how he enters every scene like that.
  16. That is my thinking as well but isn’t the current timeline for that sometime around September? I would hate to live in one of these countries that gets their first vaccines that late. All the WHO is really saying is that wealthy nations have scooped all the available supply. I kind of struggle with that. It reminds me how we felt when Trump ordered 3M to stop sending ppe to Canada.
  17. I don’t necessarily disagree with that.
  18. Too true! I guess my shovel is a little shorter than some. I get that we’ll share if we have 9 doses per Canadian. I’m talking about when. I tend to agree with Gurn, after everyone who wants to be vaccinated is. However I think the WHO is suggesting that if we wait too long it may be too late. Morally that’s true because what we are saying is that because we live in a wealthy country we are all entitled to be vaccinated before anyone living in poorer places.
  19. The other day the head of the WHO spoke about the world being at a moral crossroads regarding the sharing of vaccines with poorer countries. It brings up a really serious dilemma. We all have mothers, fathers, friends and families in need of vaccination as soon as possible. We need large scale vaccinations to get the economy back on track. Should Canada share it’s vaccines with others? If so, at what point? Canada has always had a pretty good reputation around the world for sharing food supplies. Were we doing it only because we had ample? I thought it was kind of an interesting philosophical question. Does anyone have an opinion?
  20. I don’t think it’s over-reacting to be concerned 3 games into a shortened season but let’s remember that with COVID a lot can change in a hurry for any team. One positive (or false positive) test could significantly alter the season for anybody. A bad or slow start might not be as big a deal as we imagine.
  21. I was a Canuck fan living in Edmonton the year Gretzky came into the league. He was a whiny little sob. I absolutely hated him because no matter how well the Canucks played, you KNEW he was going to break your heart. His first year as a kid in the NHL he played with BJ Macdonald and Brett Callighen, not exactly superstars although BJ was a good goal scorer for a few years. I don’t like to compare players from different eras because you can only beat the teams you play and be better than the players you play against, but for me CM has a few years ahead of him before I can even think about putting him in the GOAT category. He may get there yet but I’ll reserve judgement.
  22. Couldn’t agree more with this. His charity work starting with the Islanders bringing children who had lost a parent to games and into the dressing room is inspiring. He is everything that we ask a Canuck to be.
