This is probably as big of an issue as concussions. What happens to these athletes when they leave their sports sometimes addicted to prescription painkillers? Prescribed drugs are the true gateway drug.

It’s tricky isn’t it. You kind of have to pick your spots or you’d be boycotting most everything. Then you have companies like Goya where one side boycotts and the other side over buys. I know this though, I would sleep on a pillowcase filled with bricks before I’d buy a Mypillow.

There is some truth to this but look at this past summer with covid and early border restrictions causing a shortage of immigrant pickers. Farmers were forced to raise wages and they still couldn’t get enough pickers and had crop left in fields. One of the arguments against raising the minimum wage in the US is that “I only make $15/hr at my job. Why should a burger flipper make the same as me?” You’ve already increased your leverage because you can quit any time and work at Arby’s. As soon as the lowest guy makes $15 it pushes everybody above him up a notch. The problem is not what those at the bottom are getting, it’s what those at the top are taking. Instead of fighting each other for scraps we should be fighting for a fair share for each of us.

The very idea of “build the wall, build the wall” is beyond ridiculous. Suppose just for a moment that it actually accomplished keeping illegal immigrants out. Now the people doing the chanting can have access to all the menial low-paying jobs that they already don’t want. Full-time jobs paying liveable wages are the problem not immigrants.

I didn’t see a whole lot of difference between this play and the one called on Pearson.

We obviously want to win tonight but win or lose I want to see them play like a team and look out for each other. A little backbone would make me happy.

Let me start by saying that I agree with your premise. I admire both your communication skills and patience. However my problem is when you say we should ignore the extremists, white supremacists and hopeless idiots. When you invite these people into your tent and refuse to disavow what they stand for in unequivocal language you can hardly be surprised that the stink permeates your party. I have no interest in civil discourse with these people. Cast them out so we can talk about the serious issues. There are many things that I agreed with when it was the old Republican Party.

I agree with your take with the exception of the assistant coaches, particularly Baumer. Maybe I’m guilty of overrating our defence but I think with our talent should be playing much better. Seems very much like a systems issue that we are aren’t doing anything to change.
