June 20, 2009. The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale....
Look at this card!
LW Bout: Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida
LW Bout: Joe Stevenson vs Nate Diaz
WW Bout: Anthony Johnson vs Matt Brown
WW Bout: Chris Lytle vs Kevin Burns
Add in the TUF finals and you've got one hell of a freebee!! Can't wait!

So UFC 101 set to take place in Portland, Oregon on August 8! Only a five-hour drive. I'm already planning on picking up tix to see UFC 100. This one could definetly be worth the drive.
Announced matchups so far....
Randy Couture vs Minotauro Nogueira
Forrest Griffin vs Thiago Silva
Thiago Tavares vs Melvin Guillard
Lots of hotel options in the Portland area too. Will be much cheaper than going to Vegas!!
-
anyone else going to watch this?

Finally got to see the whole UFC 96 card.
Crazy head kick by Hamill. That was sick. Dude was OUT!!!
And WTF was up with the Brown/Sell fight?? Was Yves wasted? Thats was some of the worst reffing Ive ever seen!
-
So Brock/Mir 2 on July 11 at UFC 100???? It's not official yet, but it looks like that's the deal!
Wow. This could be the best night ever. I can't wait to be there live!!!
-
Carwin reminds me of a new Mark Coleman. Anyone else seeing the resemblence? Not fighting style-wise, just by looks.
-
Managed to get to the pub after work to see Carwin/Zaga and Page/Keith.....
Impressed with Carwin, but again he really hasn't fought aynone special. I guess you could consider Gonzaga somebody?? Either way, nice knockout. Still think he got a little lucky. I can see him and Velasquez fighting somewhere down the road for the title for sure.
As far as the main event went, I thought it was very entertaining. Jardine somehow found a way to take a punch! Crazy he didn't get ko'd there! And how did Page not finish him off?? Kinda odd.
I'm donwloading it now cause I wanna hear what Rashad/Page were saying to each other at the end. The pub was super loud. And I'd like to see this apparent crazy ko kick by Matt Hamil.
-
Congo Lesnar would be a crazy fight. Clash of the titans. last time Congo fought, he destroyed the guy.
The world needs to see Sivla GSP...that'd be the fight of the century. I actually can admit to having a man-crush on GSP. there, I said it. haha
I don't need to see this fight. Anderson is a much bigger fighter and IMO would probably knock GSP out. Aaaaaand, I don't really need to see that. I'm a firm believer of sticking to your weight class, and fighting the next top contender. Unfortunately, the UFC doesn't.
If things were fair, Machida would be fighting Rashad next and Anderson would be fighting Marquardt.
-
I'll watch it because I always watch them. PM coming Johnny.
Much appreciated by the way. Only prblem is I have a bday dinner to go to so I wanted to record it somehow. DEFINETLY not paying $50 to see a main event of Page/Jardine.
-
Is anyone actually getting this weekend's show? Anyone really care to see Rampage vs Jardne?
Yah, me neither.
-
Out of curiosity... how much are seats at an event?? I've heard in the thousands for anything within the first bowl and a couple hundred even up in the nosebleeds.
It all depends on wether or not you get them at face value.
Yah, the lower bowl sections decrease from about $1000 to $750 to $500. Up top, they start at $300 I believe then go to $150 to $75/$50. After experiencing UFC 91 live, I can honestly tell you that just being there live is wroth it. That's why this time around I'm going to try and get the cheapest seats possible. There's big screens everywhere, and actually the last few rows aren't that far back. It's not like GM Place, much smaller.
Apparently, Mandalay Bay's arena is even smaller more intimate than MGM Grand's. But I'm sure the prices will be a little heaftier for UFC 100.
-
UFC 96 looks pretty weak. I don't know if I could even sit through it with a card like that. That said, I'm already pumped for UFC 98, they don't need much else to round out the event.
Tis true. That's why I only listed the three big ones.
Very psyched for Brock/Mir 2. This is another opportunity for Brock to prove himself worthy as champ.
-
Been a while since we've talked UFC. Some updated cards.....
UFC 96: March 7 in Columbus
Keith Jardine vs Rampage Jackson is pretty much the only fight worth talking about. I guess Shane Carwin vs Gabrel Gonzaga has potential, but this card just SUCKS! Other fights:
- Matt Hamil vs Mark Munoz - boring
- Matt Brown vs Pete Sell - could be a slugfest, but does anynone care?
- Gray Maynard vs Jim Miller - ugh.... yawn....
UFC 97: April 18 in Montreal!
- Anderson Silva vs Thales Lietes - meh.... should be against Nate the Great
- Chuck Liddell vs Mauricio Rua - trying to ressyrect Chuck?? Methinks Shogun will be ready for this one....
- Brian Stann vs Krzysztof Soszynski - token boring Canadian bout
- Cheick Kongo vs Antoni Hardonk - pumped for this, Kongo is fun to watch
- Luiz Cane vs Steve Cantwell - MY BOY LUIZ!!! IMO, the future of the LHW division!
- the undercard also features Nate Quarry vs Jason McDonald, as well as the return of Denis Kang and David Loiseau
UFC 98: May 23 in Las Vegas
Huuuuuuuuuge HW Unification fight between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. I think brock takes it this time. Also.....
- Matt Hughes vs Matt Sera - the rivalry from TUF Season 6 finally gets to happen
- Sean Sherk vs Frank Edgar - great LW matchup
- more to come....
UFC 99: June 13 in Cologne, Germany
Soooooo..... the main event was supposed to be BJ Penn vs Kenny Florian for the LW title, but apparently June is just too early for litlle b!tch, I mean, BABY Jay Penn to fight. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/penn-want...er-return-16319
Instead, the new main event could be Wanderlei Silva vs Rich Franklin. Wow, whoopeee!!! I actually can no longer stand BJ. I used to respect him as a fighter, but now he's just shown his true BABY colours.
Other fights on this card:
- Cain Velasquez vs Heath Herring - stoked for this one... IMO, Cain is the future HW champ!
- Marcus Davis vs Dan Hardy - could be very entertaining, I hope Hardy knocks the poser's a$$ out
And then of course we have.......
UFC 100: July 11 in Las Vegas
Just booked my package through Allegiant Air and now just waiting for presale tickets to go on sale!!! Can't wait!!! Apparently, they want to make this the greatest PPV of all-time. Judging by the first two announced matches, it's on it's way....
- GSP vs Thiago Alves for the WW title. GSP..... nuff said. Gonna be SICK! But this will be his biggest test yet, aside from Jon Fitch IMO.
- Dan Henderson vs Michael Bisping - for the #1 MW contendership. I like Hendo in this one, and feel this will be an end to the grooming of The Count.
- there are some other rumours, including the rescheduled BJ/Kenflo bout, a LHW title bout between Rashad and either Rampage or Machida, and Chuck/Anderson
Regardless, I'll be there for UFC 100. And if you wanna go, I suggest you check out Allegiant Air right now! Their packages just went down in price big time!!
-
Marquardt is THE MAN!!!! That was sick!!
Very funny to see Koschek get knocked out too.
-
Looks like Wanderlei Silva v. Rich Franklin will also happen at UFC 99. Is this finally the time Franklin will beat a Brazilian named Silva? (or any Brazilian at that.)
GSP v. Alves could be match of the century
Other UFC 100 rumours:
Evans v. Rampage/ Machida (depending on if Jackson beats Jardine.)
Henderson v. Bisping
Anderson Silva v. Chuck Liddell
Couture v. Nogueria (More likely to happen at 99)
Droooooools.....
Seriously, MUST go to this event!
-
Penn v. Florian @ UFC 99 in Cologne, Germany.
This should be a great fight. Penn can't have a worse showing than in his last fight and he knows it, while this is Florian's chance to really make a name for himself.
Agreed. I still say BJ wins though. Still can't see KenFlo as the champ, although I'd love it.
And looks like GSP/Alves is confirmed for 100. I seriously cannot wait to see this live. Gotta get those presale tickets bright and early though!!!

Crazy stuff there.....
Anyways, anyone else considering going down to Vegas for UFC 100??? Apparently it's July 11 at Mandalay Bay. Rumours swirling for potential matchups:
GSP vs Alves (possible main event)
Rashad vs #1 contender (Machida? Rampage?, etc)
Couture vs Minotauro
This has the possibility of being one of the biggest PPV's ever. I MUST GO!! Allegiant Air alwys has killer deals outta Bellingham if anyone's interested! And yours truly is a Fight Club member with access to presale tickets!!
-
K, that's pretty damn funny!
-
I don't hate GSP. Not at all. And its not the UFC I hate. It's Dana white. As for Fedor. Well its fedor.
I was going to make a jerky response but I don't really think it was needed.
Ya got a point there.
I can see why someone would hate Dana too.
-
Harbinger.... we get it. You hate the UFC, GSP, and have a mass boner for Fedor.
Cool.
-
Wow, that just makes the UFC ever coming to BC a definte NEVER.
-
Rumble needs better recognition, and better competition. Same as Cain. Those two could be beasts, but they need to prove themselves against quality opponents.
Oh and apparently UFC 100 will tale place July 11 at Mandalay Bay in Vegas. Bet your ah-noose that I'll be there!
-
Still haven't seen last night's show. Totally forgot to PVR it, good thing it's on again tonight at midnight. I heard my boy Cain knocked out some Bosnian pretty good.
-
Here's my wild prediction....
Lietes will beat Anderson Silva. Yes. I said it.

So FINALLY it's been officially announced.... BJ Penn vs Kenny Florian at UFC 101, August 8 in Philly. I'm friggin so pumped for this one!
Also, anybody here looking to go down to Vegas for 100 in July??
