  1. that was probably the most brutal night of mixed martial arts.

bloodsport the movie brought to life.

Didnt it seems weird that they were collecting money for TBI Traumatic Brain Injuries, by punching each other in the head?

Ha ha!!! I said almost the same thing to my buddy!!

You're right though! It was total Kumite action!!!

  2. It IS conceivable - however unlikely - that I might be too wimpy for an MMA career, because if that had been me, I would have tapped before my arm got folded backward at the elbow. Full marks to Al-Hassan for sheer determination: "Mmph, I can make it... (crunch) ...Only ninety seconds until the bell... (crack) ...haaaang onnn... (skkkrack-POOM) ...AAAAAAUGH!"

Considering that seeing that almost made me puke, I probably wouldn't even cut it as a referee.

Yah, that was disgusting alright. Cantwell's interview after too.... "I've been waiting to do that for two years now!!! That was awesome!!!". Just crazy stuff. Al-Hassan's reaction was just like "Ooooohhhhhhh F---------CK!!!!" His eyes were popping out!

Anywho, next up (after Saturday's TUF finale) could be the PPV event of the year, UFC 92. I say COULD be, because generally the big ones haven't always lived up to the hype. Gonna make a couple of predictions:

    Wanderlei/Rampage:

I'm gonna go with Wandy again. He is too smart a fighter, whereas Page just seems to wanna brawl it out all too much and put on a show. Wandy is similar, but smarter. Wandy by TKO, 3rd round.

    Nog/Mir:

This could be a snoozefest. Unless Nog dictate's the fight. I can see Mir clinging to his legs for much of the fight. Still I'm gonna say Nog, probably by a TKO at some point. Maybe 4th round.

    Forrest/Rashad:

I've never seen a boring Forrest fight. He always brings it. Rashad, on the other hand, wins all the time. Just not pretty. Although is KO of Chuck was one of the best ever. I can see this one going to a decision for sure, Forrest winning just for more effort. If that makes sense.

For fun, I'll pick Nover and Vinny to win the TUF finale's.

  3. What an amazing show for free!! Just finished it now (worked late tonite)!

Koschek's KO was one of the sickest EVER!! Wow! Did u see buddy's eyes when he dropped? They looked crossed!!

Ben Saunders was dynamite with those knees. That height advantage really paid off for him!

And how about the most gruesome armbar ever??? Steve Cantwell on Al-Hassan was awesome!! Even better than Mir/Sylvia!!!! Man, did thing pop! And did ya see Al-Hassan's reaction after??? Ha ha!!

    SOLID freebee tonight!!

  4. wow how did i miss the other fights all i saw was the Nover and Balder fights?

how was the Vinny and Krystof fight?

edit: anyone know of a website that streams those other 2 fights

There was another episode on right after the first one. I didn't know until the next day!

Krstof/Vinny was decent. Krystof was beating him in standup but then Vinny eventually just pulled him into his guard and immediately went to work on his jj and got the armlock. Meh.

Junie/Efrain was much more entertaining! Junie gets in the ring and sits down. Cocky prick. Anyways, Efrain wore him down and then in round two Efrain got him in a cool choke when Junie sorta just gave up. This was all after JUnie threw a coffee mug at Shane Primm and went psycho again. Dana let the boys decide his fate and they all agreed on him to fight. Justice was served.

  5. Junie is scheduled to face Dave Kaplan at the fianle next week. The fact this guy's even on the finale amazes me, let alone the main card!

And I give the edge to Vinny for sure. His JJ is sick. Bader is boring as hell.

But I'm psyched for the Phillipe/Efrain fight. Go NOVER!!

  6. For those who watch TUF: TM vs. TN:

What are your "predictions" for the semi-final match-ups?

I got Bader, Krystof, Junie, and Assassin Phillipe.

Probably the exact same, maybe with Efrain beating Junie. We'll see. That pissed me off that there wasn't a new episode this week.

  7. Yah, heard about the Fitch release earlier tonight. Crazy stuff! Don't really know what to make of it. I know it all revolves around money though.

And nice work on the press conference Pfize. I loved the dude right at the beginning... "Who's the guy in the green???" The crowd loved it too!!

  8. yeah good list.

I also want him to face the young big heavyweights to see how he would do.

    Alex Emelianenko 6'6 253

    Josh Barnett 6'3 250

    Mirko CroCop 6'1 230

    Sergei Kharitonov 6'4 242

    Alistair Overeem 6'5 240

    Shane Carwin 6 ft 1 264

Only Carwin is signed with the UFC. UFC needs to bring in the big guns in heavyweight to test Brock. Their division is so weak at the moment. 2nd worst after middleweight.

edit: and Gabriel Gonzaga in the UFC.

I would add Cain Velasquez in there as well. IMO, he could be the man.

And to answer your earlier question, I mostly just saw the fighters. We did actually meet Junie Browning and Nate Quarry, as well as Mike Goldberg.

Roger Huerta walked right beside me with his hoody on and I didn't even notice it was him until some girl shouted ROGER!!! He turned around and I was like DAMMIT!!!

BJ walked right by me at a slot machine while I was waiting for my buddy getting a beer. I said "BJ" and he gave me the signature Hawaiian hand gesture. What do you call that anyway?

  9. So just got back tonight from Vegas....

WOW!! If you've never been to a live UFC ppv, I suggest you splurge and go. It is sooooooo worth it. My seats were up a bit higher and yet I saw everything. There's tonnes of big screens around the arena too. Best crowd I've ever experienced!!

As far as Randy/Brock goes, I kinda saw it coming. I just didn't think Randy would get caught like that. It was disappointing to witness that live. But other than that, it was a helluva show!!

Met/saw a lot of the guys too: BJ, Huerta, GSP, Loiseau, Mir, Bonnar, Franca, Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan, Crappy thing was my camera battery died near the end of the show, so I couldn't get any good pictures. I actually met Junie from TUF too.... super nice guy!

But last night around 2:30am at Treasure Island, my buddy and I ran into Nate Quarry. The ONLY pic I ended up getting with one of the fighters (I'm in the Nucks shirt):

  10. Don Taylor called the UFC a "trend" last night, kind of pissed me off. It was in regards to the daily poll, it was something like "Which Saturday sporting event are you looking forward to the most?" He said that the Lions game should be a no-brainer.

I don't give a sh!t about the CFL. Bush-league football played by a bunch of Americans that aren't good enough to make it in the NFL.

    /mini-rant

    Very well said.

CFL football just doesn't do it for me. I don't care what the score is, I just HATE 3 down football.

And as far as Taylor goes calling the UFC a "fad", just wait a couple years from now, when it's completely mainstream. Although I think it is already.

  11. That was beyond annoying.

Goldberg and Rogen annoyed the HELL outta me. "So precise!" "Best PFP fighter..." "So elusive" I can't believe how bad they suck off Anderson. That was terrible. Joe actually said the fight was exciting.

And how bad was that crowd??? They booed everything!!! Booing Cote during his post-fight interview was the worst. I felt awful for him. He had to apologize over and over just to stop the booing.

    WHAT A JOKE!!

    Although Sherk/Griifin was pretty killer.
