    Another bozo peddling false information.

Vaccines have very clearly been shown to prevent recipients from 1st catching the virus and 2nd suffering serious illness.

Its morons like the above who were 90% of the people in the intensive care wards... you wanna feel sorry for them, but they are endangering the rest of us by keeping this virus in being.

Post Alpha/Beta/Delta, now Omicron has shown that it can evade the vaccine and infect people (hence case counts exploded in vaccinated) BUT the vaccine still has still GREATLY reduces your chance of getting sick beyond your run of the mill 24 hour flu symptoms and the odds of going to hospital/ICU are still extremely small if you're under 70.  So in conclusion, yes the vaccine is still beneficial.

How'd you like that bad boy?

I never liked it it's on my one and done list.

I liked it a lot, if you like bourbons I think its a worthwhile try.  A lot different from my typical Irish whiskey so it was a nice change up.

If you get the BH Toast it's actually really mellow.

For a bourbon Basil always had that full body and I can't help but enjoy it.

I will have to see if I can find it then. The liquor store on my way home from work has very limited selection outside of your regular every day whiskeys, need to go to one in town that has good reviews and selection apparently.

Don't usually do Kentucky bourbon but I enjoy this one.

    Yup.

Even with my "always be drinking beer" manoevre I actually got told to still wear a mask, and pull it down to take a sip. That was quite recent and I talked to the staff about it and apparently they were feeling heat from the politicians due to all the people QQing that people at Canucks games aren't wearing their masks.. (Tommy got a toy how come I don't get a toy!!!!)

Ah ok. I just find it funny how when I see pictures or clips they were non existent most of the time from my brief looks.

    Oh well it's gone now.

Global events seem to be wreaking havoc in commodity markets. Today it was Oil's turn.

    oil

That is at one point a $23 dollar/barrel intraday drop. At one point it fell $11 in under 7 minutes. If you had bought just 1 contract at $115 you would have been down $11,000 in no time. So strange to see oil go essentially 'no bid'. It may be the biggest intraday drop ever. I've certainly never seen one that big.

And thats why I don't screw with contracts lol.

Upped my energy holdings another 10% this morning. The market hasn’t seen the real flow of dividends that will be coming thru 2022-23 yet. Most producers have committed to returning 50% of earnings to shareholders. I am getting well over 11% yield on my CNQ. Energy should be a 4-5 year play.

Dang I wish I had gotten into energy.  I was way to tech heavy the last year and its bit me in the ass lately lol.

    Wife works in a school

Got a threatening response via text from a parent regrading sending kids home with antigen tests. Calling the school brainwashed and saying this the last straw or something and that  'they mean it!"

Anyone shows up to threaten her in person, I will not hesitate to knock them stiff.

They realize they could simply send them back, or just trash them if they didn't want them....

The companies will be bankrupted. The shares will be worthless. Bondholders will get pennies on the dollar. Equity holders will get force fed a s**t sandwich. New equity will be issued and existing shareholders will get none of it. .

I am not sure how securities laws work in Russia (or if there are any lol). The way a bankruptcy works in normal countries is ........

    1) Secured bondholders get paid first.

    2) Unsecured bondholders get paid second.

    3) Holders of subordinated debt get paid third.

    4) Holders of 'preferred' stock get paid fourth.

    5) Holders of common stock get paid last with what's left which is always zilch.

There are many different types of crude oil. In the last week benchmark WTI (West Texas Intermediate) has skyrocketed from $90/barrel to as high as $117/barrel. I am sure everyone has seen the effect of this at the gas pump. The stuff in Russia is referred to as "Urals" crude. The market/traders is/are dumping it as fast as they can and being forced to buy WTI, Brent etc. Hence the explosion in the spread between Urals vs Brent.

Wow -22 a barrel.  I saw a few of their oil stocks got frozen today as I was watching them drop.

    But you're not "we".

And some of "us" are ok with masks. They had them at the entrance to hospitals before COVID and I always chose to put one on to keep others safe.

They have been effective, so your words don't make it so.

The mandates will be ended when our health officials say so and some just need to accept that.

There were masks at hospital entrances before. I don't visit hospitals often but I swear I had never seen a mask before outside of an operating room. That's interesting, I wonder if it'll be a common thing where you take one when you enter from now on.

Keep in mind I’m not an antivaxer, and the only mandates I’m against are toward the vaxed.   Lol.
Im fully in favour of vaccines.

This isn’t the same one I read earlier today, but it’s from the Vancouver sun.

Scroll down a bit and it talks about 5-11 vaccine effectiveness.
    Specifically Pfizer.

    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/vancouversun.com/news/local-news/covid-19-update-feb-28-2022/wcm/e3cbfc67-d7f0-4c3e-9176-e1bf1a405c8f/amp/

“Two doses of the Pfizer Inc and BioNTech SE COVID-19 vaccine was protective against severe disease in children aged 5 to 11 during the recent Omicron variant surge, but quickly lost most of its ability to prevent infection in the age group, according to a study by New York State researchers.

The vaccine’s efficacy against infection among those children declined to 12 per cent at the end of January from 68 per cent in mid-December compared to kids who did not get vaccinated, according the study, which has not yet been peer reviewed.”

So I am reading it as preventing infection is because of the decline of Delta I assume? We sort of know all the vaccines don't do squat for transferring of Omicron around and it seems just by reading that article that is what its saying as Omicron became the dominate variant. Seems its still doing a decent job of keeping kids out of hospital though.  My kids aren't old enough for the shots, won't be until next fall so it should be a good long time study by the time they are of age where I can weigh the pros and cons (or god I hope covid has petered out by then)

So I got to try Port Charlotte 10 last week.

Before last week Talisker 10 and Lagavulin 8 were competing for my favourite so far.... I might have a new favourite whiskey. Port Charlotte's so good. lol

(Although I will say my 1st peated whiskey I tried was Ardbeg 10 and I need to get back to that... there's something about that one still, maybe because it turned me into a peathead)

Ive seen that bottle in the stores before, I might have to get it next week if I can find it.  Never had one made in UK before.  Looks like one in Abby, have to see if I head out there sometime soon.
