  1. I love the Oilers... :bigblush:

And I love watching them fail.

Some guys at work are Oilers fans and the way they go on and on about their young guys like they're the 2nd coming of the Gretzky era is mind numbing. Another pitiful year like this looks great on them.

  2. Pulling even further ahead of the Jets for the division lead, love it.

NJD goaltending situation working out perfectly for me.

Get your lead now. My teams have traditionally started slow and surged down the stretch. I still have the better team. ;)

  3. Only 9 players actually in action tonight, so very happy with the numbers so far!

    Crosby – goal, 2 assists, +3, 2 PIMs = 17 points

    Weber – ppg, ppa = 12 points

    Raymond - +1 = 2 points

    Streit – assist, +2, 4 PIMs = 11 points

    Gallagher – assist, +2 = 7 points

    Barrie – ppa, 2 PIMs = 8 points

    Hainsey – SHA, +2 = 11 points

    Volpatti - 0

    Total: 68 points so far.

Jordan Eberle still in action. An excellent effort from our group tonight, hope it can keep pace with the teams we're chasing, who have much larger groups on the ice tonight.

  4. Oh, there is the problem, I just confirmed on your spreadsheet that it does say "YES" and that is, i believe, incorrect. He is 23 and has only played 37 NHL season games...so it should say "NO".

    Loophole for the win!

    :picard:

I have no idea how I screwed that up.... Ah well, 800+ players, bound to slip up once or twice. Will adjust that and assign Poulin to your minors system, he will not be on waivers as it was my mistake and subsequent explanation in PM that led to him being placed there.

  5. New Philadelphia Flyers lines:

Mikkel Boedker - Mikko Koivu © - Cam Atkinson

Mikhail Grabovski - David Desharnais - Ales Hemsky

Brian Gibbons - Max Lapierre - Brad Boyes

Vaclav Prospal - Jerred Smithson - Shawn Thornton

    TBC

    Braydon Coburn - Travis Hamonic

    Andrew Ference - Jordie Benn

    Adam Pardy - Carlo Colaiacovo

    Denis Grebeshkov

    Ondrej Pavelec

    Anders Lindback

    Kevin Poulin

A great start re-building the Flyers!

But yes, arby is right, only 2 goaltenders maximum. Lindback is in limbo while he waits for a roster spot, and if one isn't created by 6:24pm tonight, he will automatically go on waivers in order to be sent to the minors club.

  6. TRADE: The Philadelphia Flyers have made a trade with the Vancouver Canucks.

    To PHI:

    Mikko Koivu

    Jordie Benn

    Jeff Halpern

    Stefan Noesen

    To VAN:

    Scott Laughton

    Mike Matheson

VAN 2014 1st Round Draft Selection

CGY 2014 3rd Round Draft Selection

CBJ 2014 3rd Round Draft Selection

  7. WAIVERS: The Philadelphia Flyers have claimed Brian Gibbons from the St. Louis Blues via waivers.

WAIVERS: The Philadelphia Flyers have claimed Denis Grebeshkov from the Nashville Predators via waivers.

  8. Zack Kassian is suspended and therefore can't be removed from your main roster at this time.

I wasn't aware of that rule.

My bad Curt... Place him as the extra forward in the NHL I guess.

^ Same goes for Potter (and Thornton, and whoever else is suspended)

  9. ANNOUNCEMENT:

The league has two items to address this afternoon. First, our respected colleague y0shi has contacted the league and requested a leave of absence from his post as General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning. While his passion for the game and his team has not diminished, he has some personal matters to attend to and has temporarily vacated his role as General Manager for the next few months. We expect y0shi to return sometime this season, at which point he will be allowed to re-assume his role as General Manager. It is our goal to assist y0shi with whatever we can in order to best help him address his situation, and this is the way we feel we can best do so.

In the interim, the league will look at bringing on an assistant General Manager on an interim basis, to work in conjunction with myself, to run the day to day operations of the hockey club and make roster moves, trades, etc. The interviewing process has already begun and we expect to have someone in place by the end of the week. This is an opportunity for this new General Manager to get their feet wet in our game and be in prime position to jump in should another position be vacated for whatever reason, and if y0shi's absence is longer than expected, Tampa Bay will already have a steward in place and should not be negatively impacted in the long term.

The second matter is to address the matter of the Philadelphia Flyers, who currently sit 27th overall and have yet to ice a complete lineup this season. Several weeks ago, the Flyers ownership brought up their concern to the General Manager and demanded that roster shortcomings and competitive apathy be addressed in a timely and aggressive manner. While the Flyers GM made a few token signings for the minor league club and shuffled a few players around, the changes have not equated to icing a complete roster or addressing ownership concerns regarding the club and the General Manager's desire to compete on a nightly basis, despite ownership giving them a longer than expected time frame to do so. As a result, Strombone1 has been dismissed as General Manager of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Philadelphia ownership will not accept 'tanking' as an acceptable strategy for the season and can no longer sit by and watch a roster that only a few years ago was in contention for a playoff spot be dismantled with little more than draft picks to show for it. Attendance has suffered and the fans are outraged, and rightfully so. Philadelphia's fans deserve better. The Flyers ownership group has announced that Azzy Mahmood has been named as the clubs new General Manager, with the hope that Azzy can turn things around and address the issues that the previous administration would not.

HIRING: The Philadelphia Flyers have hired Azzy Mahmood as their new General Manager.
