  1. depending what the + is i'd consider it. tanev is already better at his role than edler is, and o'reilly, in my opinion, brings a lot more to the table than kane.
  2. not the same kind of hatred. kesler and umberger is off ice hatred, kesler and ladd is competitive on ice hatred. kesler played a role in umberger being shipped out of vancouver.
  3. umberger and kesler have despised each other for a decade.
  4. did my image not show up for anyone else? i posted a picture of rj umberger.
  5. no, he didn't. and look at my list of the trades on the previous page. the comparable are better and more recent.
  6. buffalo had to throw in a 4th with gaustad to get a 1st.
  7. if the team was looking to move him, yes, a 2nd would likely do it. maybe a late round pick or very long shot prospect thrown in. canucks got higgins for oberg and a 3rd. sharks got tyler kennedy for a 2nd. jets got setoguchi for a 2nd. jets got frolik for a 3rd and 5th. leafs got bolland for a 2nd and two 4ths.
  8. well, he looked terrible playing with daniel and burrows and that's $11.5 mil in linemates. close enough? samuelsson made kesler, and its because when he was on kesler's line, the play ran through him. he carried the puck into the zone, dictated the pace and the strategy. kesler doesnt have the brains offensively to be the leader of a line. its why his best offensive performances came playing with samuelsson and sundin, two guys who took charge.
  9. with kes it goes beyond not making his linemates better, to the point where he actually makes them worse. his nickname should be the linekiller.
  10. there's no question that i enjoy playing devils advocate, but in this particular case I'm just really sick of canucks fans overrating kesler and undervaluing the sedins. i personally can't stand kesler and have been stating that he should be traded for years now. i'll keep the sedins every day of the week and twice in sunday. its a no brainer.
  11. he was. its yet to be seen whether he can get back to that. and i've been a vocal hansen supporter since his first call-up.
  12. maybe to you (and undoubtedly to gillis), but not to the rest of the league.
  13. as a comparison, i guarantee the sedins are considered part of sweden's leadership group.
  14. or maybe they know something we don't.
  15. if kesler is such a great leader why is it that when team usa brass rattles off a list of 5 or 6 players comprising their leadership group, he isn't among them?
  16. hamhuis isn't the problem. the problem is that he's expected to be a number one guy here when he should be a number three.
  17. the other thing to remember is that we will all be dissapointed with the return that gillis gets in any trade he makes because he fundamentally lacks the ability to get good value.
  18. well, i wouldn't trade a potentially elite shutdown defenceman for a 50-60 point player with attitude issues and an unearned contract, that's for sure.
  19. david booth is like a big, dumb, horribly inbred yellow lab.
  20. don't worry, i know what you meant. my point was merely that to "daigle" means to disappoint while producing at roughly the same rate as kesler, the same player whose value you're espousing so vigorously.
