I really like the Luongo trade and have faith Lack will do great and seeing how D Sedin is out for a while i think MG made the best decision and kept Kesler until the offseason to try to get the last playoff spot. What i'm disappointed in is it couldn't be more obvious we need help scoring and we could have traded Edler and a pick and landed some scoring help and didn't. That part i don't understand. They better give Jensen a shot and send that goon/plug Archibald to Utica.

This is a great job by Gillis on many levels. I've always wanted Matthias this guy could be a talented beast for us. -

This could be a great deadline for the Canucks maybe we could trade Lecavlier for Luongo in this Kesler deal as well and be stronger now and in the future. I've now got my hopes up that we can get rid of Edler and Luongo in the Kesler deal or seperate and get some great return. Damn i hope after hearing all these rumors we don't end up with a yawner Alberts for OBrian trade.

All this talk by foolish fans and media of poor Luongo is a joke. Luongo would be starting if he didn't get outplayed by our goalie prospects its his own damn fault. Lack allowed a screen goal, own goal by Bieksa and a perfect shot and anyone that blames him on this loss has no hockey sense at all. Vancouvers problem is drama queen fans and media it's embarrassing people really need to calm down.

Is Luongo sitting out again because he's in play?
The Big Luongo replied to VegasCanuck's topic in Canucks Talk
People need to stop crying and face the facts. Luongo has got outplayed by Schneider and now Lack and both coaches thought so and most fans with half a brain can see that too. Luongo has nobody to blame for this but himself letting these great skilled goalies take his job. Luongo has grown a lot from the cry baby excuse making soft goalie he was in the past and he now seems like a really great guy but it's all about winning and making the playoffs now and you put the goalie in that gives you the best chance and that's Lack. Good on Torts for making this ballsy move and good on MG if he can get something valuable before the trade deadline for Luongo. -

The Big Luongo replied to VegasCanuck's topic in Canucks Talk
Quite obvious that Lack gives the canucks best chance to win they should see whats out there for possibilities. Dumping that contract of the payroll and even getting a top forward prospect would be a win for me. Maybe trading Luongo and Edler as a package to the capitals or some other team that would take both would give us big talent back. As far as i'm concerned MG wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't at least see whats out there for all players including Luongo and the Sedins. -
Not sure what MG is going to end up doing but there's definitely lots of deals to be made and if the deadline comes and goes without noticable improvements made MG failed bottom line. Clearly you have to give something to get something good and if MG does it right we will be far better now and not have jeopardize the future. To the credit of MG between the young free agent signings and good job of drafting the future is looking bright and won't miss Edler and a pick or prospect and Hansen being traded for the right help now/future player this team needs. I don't want to hear more of MG's excuses it's time he stepped up here and help this team it's crucial.

Well i hope MG trades -23 Edler in a hurry because he looked alright in the Olympics but unfortunately i have no doubt he will go back to being the liabilty he usually is in no time and hurt the team down the stretch. MG made a mistake not trading him a long time ago and from what i have seen from Torts has seen mostly the worst Edler and will want him gone to strengthen the top 6 as well. Trading a beast like Kesler would be idiotic unless we got a deal MG couldn't refuse.

[GDT] Canucks @ Leafs {Sat Feb 8, 3PM}
The Big Luongo replied to John.Tallhouse's topic in Canucks Talk
Oh damn Luongo's in net sigh. Oh well the team better play solid defense or we're doomed again. -
When you're struggling this bad your overpaid goalie needs to stand strong not cave in like a cheap tent. Torts needs to go with Eddie Lack for the majority of the rest of the season and come on MG pull the damn trigger you coward before its too late!

I've always been a fan of the Sedins effort, skill and class but sadly enough i came to the realization a while back that they don't have what it takes to get this team to the next level. Really it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone we are struggling when we are relying on soft players like the Sedins and Edler. The signing of these 3 players was our demise and now i don't know if it can be fixed with MG soft approach at making trades.

[Trade] VAN Dale Weise to MTL
The Big Luongo replied to Strombone1's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
This is a solid bargain trade for somebody more useful to the team then Weise was so i like it. The fans who think Weise isn't worthy of ice time on a playoff team are correct. Weise took far too many stupid penalties and made a lot of costly mistakes like not getting pucks out, missing passes and icing the puck in limited ice time. The fact that Weise never had the heart to engage in fights when needed and never faired very well when basically forced to fight makes getting rid of him all the more easy. This is also good depth for a future trade of Edler for a scoring forward when the defense gets healthy after the olympic break maybe ROR. -
[GDT] Chicago Blackhawks vs Vancouver Canucks - Jan 29, 2014
The Big Luongo replied to canucktican's topic in Canucks Talk
Hoping like everyone who's in this lineup steps up and we win tonight but not having Santo, Sedin and Tanev not playing our depth isn't good especially seeing we're already short a scoring forward. Missing our best defenseman in our zone and Luongo looking shaky the last couple games not thinking too positive about this one but who knows maybe we can pull it off. -
[GDT] Vancouver Canucks vs Edmonton Oilers 7PM Jan 27th
The Big Luongo replied to Alex the Great's topic in Canucks Talk
I know i agree. Look at all this garbage soft play and soft penalties the Sedins and Burrows and some other guys get away withall the time and never miss a minute. As far as i'm concerned Booth looks better then a lot of other canucks on many nights and if the coaches really believe in giving lessons they wouldn't be chicken $hits and bench some of our big name guys. I think that would light some fire under there butts and they would get their act together. Looks to me like the coaches have different sets of rules. -

There you go Booth haters. Booth takes a pass, dumps it in, takes a big hit gives one back and plays a big hand in the canucks goal. -

You guys have zero brains Garrison failed to take a simple pass on the tape and got caught up ice because of it. -

Well he should be mad at himself for taking stupid mindless penalties. -

The Big Luongo replied to Alex the Great's topic in Canucks Talk
Well personally all i've seen from Booth is him working his tail off, using great speed, doing great work on the boards, generating grade A scoring chances, having a great attitude and good effort defensively in all 3 zones. It's really starting to piss me off actually. Just doesn't make sense to me i see a lot of players making soft plays, giveaways and taking stupid penalties even the soft Sedins. I could see the first time or two he sat Booth but this is ridiculous this team cant score goals! I think Torts is out to lunch when it comes to Booth and Kassian he needs to ease off a bit on his choosing these 2 as whipping boys in my books. -

Nice to see Schroeder in the line up but think i would rather see Lack in net and Booth should be in the lineup they must be a bit stupid -

The Big Luongo replied to Twilight Sparkle's topic in Canucks Talk
Come on Luongo stand your ground and make a save damn it! -
I agree Weber makes me nervous in his own zone. Far too often it seems like he seems to panic in his own end, hands the puck away and looks too small when he's up against bigger opposition which is something that the teams we can't beat seem to all have size. Hopefully the lineup gets healthy i like the looks of this team with skilled upgrades over Dalpe and Weise although we will get smaller but we need more goals not more skilless players hitting.
