Not interested in selling our assets for multiple picks in this draft, if possible I'd rather gather more picks for 2018 and stick with our only first rounder this year.
If we aren't top 6 I wouldn't be opposed to trading down and adding say a second for next year. Wouldn't wanna move to far down though, if a team wants a player bad enough they will make the trade.
Any thoughts on Jason Robertson, could be a decent 2-4th rounder. Good size, wicked second half of the season, and put the puck in the net 42 times. Haven't seen much of his game..
I'm still with Vilardi, skating is a bit choppy but Horvat had the same knock and now it's become a strength. Vilardi is one of the youngest in the draft and his production is consistently improving after a subpar start. Necas and middelstadt are right behind but only thing that concerns me about middelstadt is the level of competition but we shall see.
He was injured first part of the year. Started slow and is one of the youngest in the draft. His production is good considering all the above. Keep in mind he is effective in the wing.
I agree though, weak draft class and normally wouldn't be a top 5.
Vilardi in my opinion had the strongest individual game, Hischier and Yamamoto were great too. Patrick had a slow start to the game but it turned around and finished strong. Glass and Comtois also very noticeable. Other strong games..
Rasanen
Fleury
Popugaev
Jokiharju
It doesn't really matter when player was drafted, you can still be the same caliber. Lidstrom was drafted in the third round but I'd kill for him to be that good lol. If he becomes a regular in the nhl then that's a good thing. Anything more is a great thing.
Let him mesh with the team a bit before whining about not being thrown into the lineup immediately. Ya it would be fun to see him play but we are winning games and he just showed up coming off an injury...
Don't underestimate his defensive game, there is a reason he is moved to a top 5 rank. It's not just his offensive game, what they like most about him is his compete level and drive. He's solid at both ends.
Oh there is lots of love for Hischier right now. If he continues he will be top of every draft rankings. Keep in mind he's in his first season in NA. That's pretty impressive
