thats right nobody would and that means take what you can get, I'd rather have an extra 1st round pick then give up to much to move up cause not all players turn out and make the nhl.Call me cautious butfinally we might have a chance to have the future 1st and 2nd lines plus filled rather then sign players which hasnt worked for us yet!I have been watching the canucks close for loner then most on here and I love Linden being hired but Benning knows trading to get more ie Kesler and not trading to move up with close to the same type of players is useless, you can mold players and to me it would be worth it to mold a 6th to be as good or better then the top center avaliable.

well we are going to trade kesler so what we get back plus our 6th is better then trading for the 1st when we are trying to get younger players for the future..Like I have posted before teams trading for the 1st usually are not as good as the team getting players for the pick ie Lindros trade.Plus teams trading a superstar player like a Kesler are better taking what they get ie the kessle trade as boston won the cup after doing so.I'd rather take what we get from the Kesler deal and picking where we are at, the trade Kessler and trading for the 1st as we'd be giving up more to make a smaller splash !Can't argue with things that have happened in the past as we learn from them!

well there are good points to both sides, just me I think with no real number 1 top pick , trying to get it for a player that might be better then the 6th pick to me means nothing.Till players get to the ahl or nhl they are all long shots to be stars unless they stand out by far which again in this draft there is not that one guy! I do not want us giving up more then we get back, but saying that if we do and if it works out then I am wrong and am cool with that.

I fully agree with you, unless it is trimming down some players who have passed there prime and our 6th pick I wouldnt do it at any cost!People seem to think a draft that has top 7 players that two are way above the rest and this draft it is clear that is not the case!

Hamhuis will not want to go there and he is worth more then a 1st round pick, try like 4!saying that I doubt it will hppen for him!

I agree and far as prospects we also have Fox a RW who I hope him and Gaunce get 9 games this season, so if the new team leaders Benning and Desjardins agree we might see it for 9 games which would definetly have an impact on who we trade Kesler to and what we get back!

I would say NO to this if they want Shinkaruk as we want to get younger and better,that doesnt work if we give themmore then we get back!

Sounds great but I think if we are trading Kess we would want to know what we get back first and then go after whomever,but at the same time I want a top 6 player to play with the twins!!!I also want to see Gaunce and Fox to get 9 games!

I just hope Benning doesn't trade players to get a higher pick as theres not much difference in top 7 players in skill.We do need to make our team better but not like the old GM and give away more then we get or take chances we do not have to.Unless benning knows something we all don't about a top pick then that's different! sweet that we got him, far as Linden goes not at the time did they sign him when interviewed,so in fact he didnt lie,being a team guy like Linden he isnt going to ruin anything till the team is 100% ready to say something which again mans it wasnt 100% done at that time!Plus Dreger calls people out, hope someone calls him out this time to show he is as bad as others he calls out!

Well I think kesler will be traded to whom we dont know but others that could be in the mix to get us more or bigger package aka a big offseason deal are Burrows, Higgins, Booth only if they want us to take a big contract player that underplays we give them one back, Dalpe, Richardson, Schroeder, Alberts, Stanton, Weber, Markstrom only if a goalie comes back, Friesen, Sauve, I wouldn't add any picks less they are 4th rounder or later! Maybe make 2 to three deals and reset the team big time and then sign who you can to make us still in the game!

If we trade Kesler I hope other players (core) players want out aswell.If we keep kesler we will need a couple good free agents like a left wing for Kesler to play with and resign santorelli , then get the twins a good rw player like gaborik or someone like that and we could be a great team, but to me I think the team needs to trade players not sign some!

Decent trade but we should have got a second round pick or minor league player for taking part of Luo's contract!Sorry to see Luo go, but I still think more will come, either get kes a good winger or trade him and Edler!

Franzen with the Sedin's till they retire would be awesome as Franzen is a playoff player!But saying that they would have to be a secon line, maybe 1st for this and next year, but what then??if MG has a plan on getting another scorer and getting rid of older players then do it and NOW!!!

If MG wants to keep his job we do need a retool.get rid of some core players like Kesler (get trade value now and next year) I hate we keep players and thier worth goes down hill! Burrows ( can help a team in depth for the playoffs ) Bieksa ( trade value is dropping get what you can ) Edler ( still has good trade value ) Schroeder ( no real place on the team ) Higgins ( hard worker utillity player ) If we can deal some of these players not all we can still keep the team in a playoff spot and get younger and maybe better, but definetly better for the future!! Yes some have a NTC but that only means they get to play and be traded for a team of 5 that they pick!! Kesler I like alot but his worth is so big if a good trade is done!! Face it we are not the team we were so something has to be done and if we go out first round and do only small deal MG should be gone to get someone in here that is willing to make trades!!

Well if it makes the team better,gets us a cup then HELL YEAH!The bruins did that and what happened they got better and a cup!Depth is better then one player on a team and smart GM's know that!!I would give up more then most would want as we have depth.Saying that I would also like MG to trade ageing players at the end of the year or next year.Kesler is at the top of his game right now and I would like MG to ask him for a list incase!I hate seeing us keep players to long and get nothing for them.Me kesler would be traded this year if we get a deal we can't say no to, or in the off season cause he would be worth more to us trading him with young players coming up to get a deal for depth or more young guns!

Lupul is small and a bbit soft.He has had a couple good years but not woth trading for.TML would have to throw in a D and a first to get him.I'd rather us sign Doan whom is a way better player then lupul.

I'd say YES we want him and to stay for a long long time the way he is playing.He reminds me of Courtnall who was a pest and could score, plus has speed and can kill penalties.If this guy isnt as good as you or others think, then think again,even if he isnt scoring he is out there getting under the other teams skin.As seen lastnight his reply after the game was to the point and good, he did not go over board and more teams will be looking at the refs for this crap now.Good job Burr and keep up your awesomness!!!
